Ours just arrived. Easy to put together, and they give you the required tools. Seems realy sturdy. Shame the wheels are all plastic, but generally it looks great. Going to take it for a spin later. There is one for sale in the classified section for ?25, but it's the basic one.

They don't have to. If there are a bunch of people that still want them, then just carry on doing it. I don't think Georgia would be offended if someone took over, but she has served her time, and deserves to step back. I too have met lots of great people through the drinks, a couple of whom are counted as very close friends. Circumstances change however, and I only had so much time available to me these days, especially after becoming a parent, so the forum drinks had to take a back seat. There were some classics though, The Pheonix springs to mind as a top one (probably late 2008 / early 2009), as well as some of the very early ones.

The article was pretty good I thought, but Peckhamboy makes a very good point, which brings us back to the basic truth of things. Soneone is always going to have to suffer a bit, whichever way it's done. I still think however, that there are better ways than the one being poposed.

Define "super wealthy". I agree with everyone who says the way this is being done is a bit off, and that the logic is very much flawed, but I just don't believe that many parents in East Dulwich are going to really suffer as a result*. Sorry. I know it's not nice, and any income will be missed, but someone is always going to lose out when cuts are being made. but I hate all the talk of "another kick in the teeth for the middle classes". * Of course I don't know everyone's circumstances, and am generalising rather.

I'm basically with pebbles. The way it's being rolled out sucks, and is unfair. I do think however, that too many people are making out that it would be a huge loss for them, whilst frankly, I suspect one less take away curry, and a couple less bottles of wine, and you'll be sorted.

It is great for pain relief, when I become mentally impotent and start smacking my head against the wall, I hardly notice.

Someone is always going to lose out, and there will be people just over the threshold who lose out. That's a shame, but at the end of the day, they'll live. People on high incomes do not need child benefit. We get it, and it's nice to have. We'll probably lose it if these plans go ahead, but it won't put us out on the streets. Will be sorry to lose it, but at the end of the day, I'd rather that than see a lot of other cuts that could be made instead! Besides, I'm sure the poor will suffer too, once a few more cuts are announced. Tax is tax, why should I pay for anyone's benefits? Why should I pay for someone to have heart surgery? Why should I pay for people to go to war? Because, I live and work here, and am very pleased that if I need heart surgery one day, I'll be able to get it on the NHS.
