I'm not buying that excuse for one second, arriety. The same pressures apply to the majority of parents who manage to get their kids to school in time without parking selfishly. Being a bit harried is not a reason to put other people's kids at risk!

I've just rescinded Dagenham. Did it unilaterally. It was quite easy really. Got a kit from B&Q. Don't think the locals were very happy about it though.

Is there anything that council's able to do about the dog mess on Goodrich Road, particularly between Barry Road and Dunstan's? It seems there's always lots, but recently it's increased to ridiculous amounts.

I usually go after the school run, so get there about 9.40. Never any problems by then.

Took the bus in. Roads clear all the way. Don't know what I was worried about. Smoothest commute in a long time. :) (Course by saying this I may have jinxed my trip home.)

So - is it worth even trying? Have just checked Southern's website and they mention a line problem at London Bridge with delays of up to 35 mins. Anyone know if the buses are making it up Dog Kennel Hill OK?

I thought it was VERY loud, so must have been pretty close to me. Seems to be an annual thing, so birthday presumably. Went on a bit later than I remember it having done in previous years, and seemed a bit louder. Maybe someone's breached a significant decade?

Signs of a good haircut: They use a straight razor at some point. They don't talk to you unless you talk to them. It costs no more than ?12; ideally less than ?10. Anyone know of anywhere in ED that passes muster? I usually go to the Clipper but... meh. Their cuts have been OK at best. Tried Roche a couple of times - one cut was OK but the other was so awful I probably won't go back. Have yet to give the new place on LL a go, but I'm due another cut soon.

I'd always assumed they were close to the store so that they were also close to the trollies - v. useful when you're lugging a baby about.

I've been thinking of playing squash - need to get some exercise and I used to play a bit at school. It seems like my two options locally are the Dulwich Squash Club or Hamlets Health Club. Was just wondering if anyone knew of any other courts nearby, or could offer any opinions on either club. Am expecting to be really quite rubbish at it to begin with, so lessons would be a plus.

Just one other quick thought: if your main issue is with colour/tone could it be down to monitor calibration?
