Feasibility of extending the Bakerloo Line into Southwark on different routes is now being considered as a long term plan. See SLP news report last September on the Southwark Rail Users Group webpages The topic will be discussed at the next meeting of the Southwark Public Transport Consultative Forum in the Town Hall Peckham Road SE5 on Wed 9th December 6pm. If you are keen to know more, come along to the discussion.

I agree PeckhamRose, Have emailed the admin in case they don't see your post to ask if they can post as you suggested in teh forst post. -
Could you report this to the police Safer Neighbourhood Teams? They will know how to get the message to anyone who might recieve reports about lost keys. Goose Green is just in South Camberwell and on the edge of East Dulwich, The Lane and Peckham Rye. The Lane SNT have just started a police corner on the EDF - you could post this info on there.

Just a slight warning - the maps of the ward and SNT police boundaries are stylised and not actual. So they are not accurate near the boundaries for individual streets. -

You can find a good summary of the known time lines for the key issues for the town centre here. Those of us working on all this from residents' perspectives have made significant progress now in bringing the Old Waiting Room at the station back to life. So half way between pie in the sky and pie on the plate. Today (Sat 26th June) there was a wonderful summer party all day on the Bussey roof with local musicians and local barbecue and the usual panoramic views. See Peckham Residents' Network (PRN) blog for what that was. Sorry I didn't see this earlier to post the info. It is the CLF Art Cafe in the Bussey under Mickey Smith that organises events on the roof. You can get his weblinks from the post on the blog to follow future events. Hannah Barry Gallery and Frank's Cafe return to the multi storey car park from 30 June. see PRN blog for details.

But if Sgt Mark Hurst - who started this excellent Lane police corner is reading this - can you suggest to the Southwark police management that they get posted somewhere a list of all SNT contact details so we can all find it? -

Good idea. In the meantime you can see a ward map here on the Bellenden Residents' Group site which shows the three wards in the Nunhead & Peckham Rye Community Council. These are The Lane, Peckham Rye and Nunhead wards. This Community Council map shows where they border East Dulwich ward and South Camberwell ward. Some other boundary maps can be found here on the site. If anyone can get the equivalent ward boundary maps for the Dulwich and Camberwell Community Councils and can post them here, I will gladly also post them on the website as well. -

It is possible, but seems the authorities (ie Ordnance Survey and other Govt Depts.) haven?t got their act together. Ridiculous. Is it part of our equivalent of the US mess with hanging chads? A really important part of our democratic process being spoilt by poor mechanics.

Thanks Mark. But it is frustrating that it doesn't seem to allow us to zoom in and out and see the constituency as a whole in this setting as well as this detail. to Admin or anyone - would it be possible to put a link in to this thread in the General Discussion and The Drawing Room discussion? I think people who would be interested in this one might not visit the Lounge expecting to see it here. I didn?t until it was drawn to my attention.

Thanks Tom for taking such good note of what has been emerging from the years of work of Peckham Vision, The Peckham Society and Rye Lane & Station Action Group and following from that the newly emerging Peckham Town Centre Forum, and also of contributing in those forums your own ideas. It is very helpful to have them all in one place in your list. We definitely need the Council to rethink how it is going to organise itself to get a more focused act together on commercial regeneration and the public realm. If anyone is in contact with any candidates in the local ward elections please ask them to support that aim at least if they are elected, whatever party they belong to, and all parties. This is not a party political issue. It is sensible commercial and community management. For background info and ideas please visit these webpages (they are different pages so click on each one): Holdron?s demolition: http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Main_Page Rye Lane central: http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Visions_for_Peckham#An_alternative_vision_for_Rye_Lane_Central and http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Transforming_Central_Rye_Lane Peckham Rye station: http://www.peckhamvision.org/wiki/Peckham_Rye_Station We will have some more chance to influence this in the renewed consultations on the Peckham & Nunhead Area Action Plan (PNAAP) which starts again in the summer/autumn. But that is long term planning policy and can?t take the place of action needed this year to get a better grip on town centre operations.

merging of services between Southwark and Lambeth Councils
Eileen replied to Pugwash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Irrespective of the party political arguments on this, is it really sensible to merge services which are the responsibility of representatives elected by completely different electorates? Next time round the vote could be different and the whole thing would have to be unraveled. Better maybe to look at the way services on either side of the borough boundaries are managed. This is not the same as merging them. But the administrative borough boundaries do mean that local areas that are divided by the boroughs often get a raw deal as there is no integrated management for what are divided neighbourhoods. Whoever is in power in either borough really should do something about that on all the borough boundaries. In this area it certainly affects Camberwell adversely according to the SE5 Forum. I live on the edge of three Community Councils - Nunhead & Peckham Rye, Camberwell and Dulwich. I know the bad affect of that even inside the same borough. I shudder to think what it is like if a borough boundary is at the end of your street. -
Shaw74 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Try this one. It's Ordnance Survey Election maps. > It seems to work quite well. > http://www.election-maps.co.uk/index.jsp Thanks for this. But it isn?t at all easy to see the actual constituency boundaries as it is so close up and where they join the next constituency it is very unclear what is what. Personally I think they are really not fit for purpose and it is astonishing that there isn?t an official decent digital map service on constituency boundaries!

I agree. As this is a Council policy, we can all raise it with our ward councillors and our respective Community Councils to put pressure on to get it changed. The best pressure would come within the Dulwich Community Council as the two parties - Liberal Democrats & Conservatives - that control the Council are both represented there. -
I don't use Firefox much but someone has told me of the Zotero Firefox extension which "is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources. It lives right where you do your work?in the web browser itself." I'd be glad to hear from anyone who has used this, to know how it works and what their experience is of it. You can PM me or post response here. Thanks. Eileen

Thanks. I might see if I can visit them. I know the ergonomic issues and yes I need all those things. - it is more that I need help to check I get the right one for my requirement, and also to see if I can find someoen to talk to about why my current chairs no longer do the job. dbboy Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Does it have to be new, if you are willing to buy > second hand, there is an office furniture shop > that sells second hand office equipment including > chairs on the corner of Honor Oak Park and Stondon > Park, i.e. very close to where the P12 bus > terminates. But need to replace them and need help to get the right thing. I have special requirements. I know what I need in a chair but impossible to tell from pictures and useless catalogue info what they actually do. So need to find a place to visit. I am beginning to wonder though if since I last bought a decent chair the web and catalogues have pushed all the store displays out of business.

Hi thanks for these sugegstions. I am hoping to find a place to go and see them in London. Does anyoen know of anywhere that displays them physically and not just in a cataloogue? I need to be able to test them out.

Hi ? does anyone know of a good display anywhere of good quality adjustable office chairs? and also of chair/seating ergonomic advice? I need a new office chair with adjustable height, seat slope and back slope, plus someone who knows about these things ergonomically. Hope someone has some clues!

Greg's distinction is right. Another difference is that London Overground Rail Operations Ltd (LOROL) is a private company set up by two other rail companies solely to operate London Overground on behalf of TfL, whereas the other TOCs are wider private companies and compete for franchises awarded by Dept for Transport. London Overground was created to operate the orbital train services in north London taken over by TfL from the national rail companies. To this has been added the East London Line extension (ELL) running north south between Croydon and Dalston, to be opened in a few months time. The new ELLX2 from 2012 between Surrey Quays & Clapham Junction via Peckham Rye & Denmark Hill will therefore also be London Overground. Because TfL don't run the other Overground rail services in our area, even though they are crucial for our local transport network, they don't mention them at all in the Mayor's draft transport strategy! SRUG has just submitted comments in the consultation on the draft urging better joined up planning and operating between TfL, London Overground and the other train companies and agencies for all overground rail in inner south London (our area). You can see the comments on the SRUG website here http://www.bellenden.net/srug/news/inner-south-london-overground-rail-missing-mayors-transport-strategy GregI Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The way I understand it is that London Overground > are a Train Operating Company- TOC (in the same > way as Southern).
