I am sure I had two letters - I threw away the first one because it said there would be a later one. The one I kept is dated 1 October. The reference number is CAP 5/ BB 966778 It was headed "Forthcoming work in Nunhead/East Dulwich", so I can't imagine anybody got a different one, though possibly the reference numbers may have been different in different subsections of the overall area. I tried to attach a scan of the letter here but the file is too big and life's just too short to mess about reducing its size. If you didn't get the second letter, which was very full and informative, you can phone them on 07809 530674 quoting the reference number above, between 8am and 5pm. ETA: It included a paragraph headed "Drop-in session" and the sentence "We will write to invite you to this nearer the time." As it also mentions several sessions, it's possible they are holding different ones in different parts of the area and that may be the reason for the invitations going out later.

Maybe the people who didn't think I was thick are now revising their opinion :)

Being "aware of the risks" isn't much help if one of the risks happens, is it? And "closing it down for half the day" is a bit of an exaggeration, surely? Parks are normally open until dusk, which varies in time for month to month. ETA: I find it slightly irritating - in the Winter particularly when it closes early - when I have to walk the long way round to DHFC (next to Sainsbury's on Dog Kennel Hill) rather than being able to cut through the park. But I'd rather have to walk a bit further than risk being attacked :( Obviously in an ideal world this wouldn't be an issue, but sadly in London it is. It doesn't stop me doing what I want - just makes me a bit more careful about how I do it. ETA: In case of any doubt, I am in no way blaming the person who was attacked in Warwick Gardens, and I hope they catch the bastard who did it soon. And there are several issues involved here - locking up parks at night is just one of them.

In fairness, I know there have been a few disgruntled DMC patients venting on this forum, but I have been quite happy with them. Surely it's not DMC's fault if you're out of their catchment area, Dee Woffaz??

But is there only one drop-in session? The letter I got said "...we would like to invite you to attend one of our informal 'drop-in' sessions in the area". And "We will write to invite you to this nearer the time". It also gave a telephone number to call for any questions in the meantime, with a reference number, and said "If you would like to know more about our work, please visit our website at http://www.thameswater.co.uk/ " It also said our water supply would not be affected by this work. The letter was signed by a named person, with his phone number at the top. I don't have anything to do with Thames Water, but I really don't see how they could have done anything more at all to be more helpful to residents about this. And if it's going to help stop the huge number of leaks we constantly seem to be getting, with water running down our roads, then as far as I can see it's all good :) ETA: Thanks to the forum members who don't think I'm thick :)

I downloaded the pack - due to demand (good!) they are no longer sending out printed versions. Because of the areas of colour, and photographs, some of the pack will be quite expensive to print out :( Can hedgehogs climb over walls, does anybody know? Because otherwise, I don't know how they would get into my garden anyway .... foxes seem to manage, but I think they climb?

Be a little cautious - I got totally wrong info about train times from the National Rail Enquiries website the other day. Luckily the correct times were later rather than earlier than stated, so I didn't miss a train .....
