  1. This cracked me up. Halo Future. You've probably already seen it MP. Should I be trading in my PS3?
  2. I like the idea but tbh I don't think I could handle it in this country's miserable damp climate. Perhaps somewhere hot with a warm sea might be a bit more alluring and take my mind of all the gadgets and home comforts I'd miss.
  3. You've got me going EDA. Mind if I line up a few more on your Citronic Decks . . . Galaxy of love Midas Touch Space Bass
  4. I've yet to be told to flange right off and go flange myself!
  5. Look ma no hands!
  6. Would be interesting to run a sub thread from this to see how many of us are home based. I understand Bob, you're quite right. But jacking it in is a huge risk in our modern Bushwellian new improved world with added Al Queda. It's like standing on the edge of precipice except in reality its everything you've achieved (no matter how little) on one side versus everything you stand to lose including relationships and being stigmatized by society as a failure because you dared. The truth is by taking the plunge you strengthen the relationships that really matter and weed out the dross.
  7. I'll do your pics but I'll need a fluffer. Any offers?
  8. If you really want to do something then you're practically there providing you have the skills. If you're a kid growing up on a gangfested estate in an area of high unemployment with errant parents and teachers that don't care you wont even know what you want to do except survive and not get caught. Somehow some kids with great talent break out despite the odds but I bet many more never even got the chance to show us that given the chance they could do something good with their lives.
  9. When the kids come dream jobs often get shelved or you do the dream job and shelve having kids. If you've got a partner who'll support your dreams then you're half way there. Luck is a big part of it. Jah you can put your mind to it but it will only ever happen if the opportunities present theselves and you're there to take advantage.

    Strange tats

I had a girlfriend that had two eyes tattooed just above her frangita. I swear it winked at me once!
  11. MP sometimes you have to grow your own grass. I used to have a farly powerful, possibly glamarous intl jetsetting exec adman lifestyle which all happened to me by accident, some hard work and a lot of luck. Certainly more than I'd ever dreamed of when I left school and home at 16 with a few GCE's. But after a couple of marriages and not able to see my son and real friends as often as I'd liked I began to wonder whether the high life and all its pressures were really worth the sacrifice. So I jacked it in, settled down in SE22 and started over again doing something I enjoy and want to do. I might be considered a bit too old and perhaps not as talented as others but I'm the happiest (and brokest) I've been in 20 years. If it doesn't work I'll retrain as a computer programmer and hang out in Soho Dominatrix Bars* ;-) *based on a true experience

  13. Wasn't aware of this before but it looks like the sacrifice is worthwhile. I like the idea of pedestrianising the end of Railton Rd - Herne Hill Village?
  14. The last 2 mins of the Unbearable Lightness of Being - Too me that's Nirvana
  15. Lot's of interesting views expressed above. However, do you draw the line when it comes to rascial swear words? Is it acceptable to use them in some of situations illustrated above oregardless of ethnic group or do you need to belong in order to use words like "Paki" and "Nigger". Whilst we're there what about the way rap culture has given new life to the word "Bitch"? Free speech or censorship?
  16. I certainly don't side with those that would damage your property / harm your person but the point I was making earlier was that by erecting walls and ignoring proper solutions will not remove the problem. If someone is intent on targetting you and your home then they will regardless of having to use more force, aggression and violence. However these people are still a minority. You could always live in a home with a proper private road or security gates but why stop otherwise innocent people from using a public road paid for through public taxes and council rates?
  17. James are you feeling a tad envious? Need a review of a Burberry Cap, Academy track suit or Staffordshire Bull Terrier instead?
  18. I find the phrase "Can't do it" quite offensive which usually gets an expletive from me in return. I'm generally OK with swear words it's the way/tone/delivery which makes it offensive or not. Since I'm not religious then blaspheming has no meaning to me but I do respect other peoples sensitivities and would not use OMG near a god fearing person. I think creative swearing is far more effective as well as great entertainment for the onlooker. Any good examples out there?
  19. Hope you Mrs Keef 2B have a memorable day and rest of your lives together - x
  20. Saw this piece in the Gaurdian and it reminded me of a time when one of my boys aged 3 had overheard the word fcuk and decided to shout it out repeatedly at the top of his voice as I pushed the trolley around Tesco's! I bet there are similar and funnier experiences to be told by the EDF.
  21. I'm dissapointed to hear that Dodo1. I was hoping things might have changed since I last (and first time) tried the CC when I moved to the area nearly 4 years ago and felt exactly the same way. Their claim to fame is that they were the very first curry house in South London. Unfortunately, nothing seems to have moved on although I must admit that from memory the staff were very hospitable and welcoming. I hope they read this thread because it would be good to get another decent curry house close to Dulwich Heights.
  22. Trips head over heels into room and crashes into large drum "Who left that French Horn on the floor?" "Er, belated birthday greetings DM!" Here's your prezzy, sorry it's late." Drags over very big sports car shaped box tied with a red silk bow.
  23. I thought it was a wind up?
  24. In Johannesburg there are a lot of gated communities with 24hr security for the wealthy. Kind of Golden Jails. Then the slightly less well of whites in some areas have decided to erect booms across the road to divert traffic and improve security. Totally illegal of course and certainly Jo'burg (not alone) is a series of segregated ghetto's. Maurice are you suggesting this is the future? If you erect a high fence then you must have something to hide and that makes me curious so I might decide to come over the top. Then you might install razor wire and an electric fence and I'll go and get a AK47. Think again. Surely society needs to be more inclusive and less exclusive if we're to solve some of the issues that make you feel unsafe and insecure?
  25. East Dulwich Angst were you an 80's DJ? Some killer tunes there (tu)
