It's just that we did particularly well with it. About ten years ago we bought a four-bedroom semi-detached house for ?250,000 in East Dulwich, not far from where we are now. Then three years ago we sold it for ?500,000, and I thought that was a very good profit. We moved to our current home, an Edwardian detached, and that cost me around ?750,000. We have had some renovation work done to it and goodness knows what it's worth now - I keep reading that property prices are falling so I'm not optimistic. I have also bought a seasonal ownership in a five-bedroom home at Gleneagles because I am mad about golf. It means we are entitled to a certain number of holiday weeks there each year and I think it's a good deal when you think about what you are saving on staying in a hotel.
