I agree.. last thing we want is Crossrail 2 to be selected over a much needed South east london tube line because it is receiving more support
  2. When I called them last week they offered me an appointment for this week. I've never had to wait 4 weeks to be seen. Please try them again.
  3. A chocolatier and cake shop (whole cakes and cupcakes). I go to Le Chandelier but they don't always have enough stock. A cinema like Picturehouse. A Japanese restaurant
  4. Garnwba, I'm sorry you had to move to SE5. I hope the move wasn't driven your parking woes near ED station. I presume you always park in designated pay and display car parks and never on a main or side road outside anyone elses house. Otherwise you could be forcing them to park somewhere else and you seemed to have been bothered by this when it affected you. Do you think all roads should be CPZs? or just around the stations that the public need to access to go to work and those who can afford the premium rent/house prices can park because they have an opportunity to pay extra to do so. CPZs prevent people (including council tax payers of which I am one) from parking on certain public roads. Unless a road is a private one or an individual pays specifically for the patch of road outside their own house, anyone who pays council tax SHOULD be able to park freely. If the public transport problem was addressed properly people wouldn't need to drive to the station. I dont drive to ED station (and have only been there twice) but I hope a CPZ isn't introduced anywhere in ED.
  5. When I contacted SE22 magazine I was told that don't deliver to my road. It appears that my road in SE22 isn't SE22 "enough" We get the Living South every month which I do like to read.
  6. FYI- consultation on proposed cycle superhighway tfl.gov.uk/cs5 Have a good evening :-)
  7. Ah what a lovely post. Welcome and wishing you all the best
  8. where is this pharmacy going to be located?
  9. LondonMix Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Then use the remaining Victoria line service. > There are still direct trains to Victoria from > Peckham... The problem is that the fewer trains that we have, the more congested the trains get. I was at Brixton last week when the lady was hurt on the train. The first train from Herne Hill had been cancelled, we waited 20 minutes for the next one but it was so full and we were all desperate not to have to wait another 15 minutes so everyone squeezed on. It was tense and appalling really. All it takes is for one of those trains to be cancelled to increase commuter tension. Considering the amount of money we pay to travel, I don't think it is unreasonable to expect a service that delivers a decent frequency of trains to take us to work.
  10. Thanks for that Does anyone know why Brixton wasn't included in the ELL2? It looks like the train will have to pass through it to get to Clapham high street
  11. I had Jacqui Teggin (Green & Teggin) around for an ideas consultation a few months ago. She was very helpful, had some great ideas and considered how we lived and used our home. There is a charge for the ideas consultation. She can send you a quote/brief for drawing up plans if required. http://www.greenandteggin.co.uk

I still experience a wait of 20-30 minutes for a bus from LL to Denmark hill or ED. (this happened last week and I had even checked the live departures on TFL before I left). I live past dulwich library and don't use FH or HOP mainly because they are in zone 3 (extra cost). The only bus that goes to HOP (P13) from where I live arrives infrequently. There is no direct bus to herne hill or brixton. The bus 63 can't find its way to HOP station. Yesterday I waited for the 9.21 train from ED. It was apparently delayed until 9.33 (when the next train was due)The 9.33 arrived at 9.35 so I am not sure where the 9.21 "disappeared" to. I read the brockley blogspot regularly and before the ELL arrived they had the same anxieties about the reduced London bridge services but it appears to have worked well and overall there is an increased frequency of trains.

I waited 20 minutes for the 185 last Thursday ,it was completely full (during rush hour) as were the two buses behind it (176 x2). I got on the fourth bus which wasn't the 185 I wanted but didn't want to chance it. The commuter bus service is heaving with the strain. The same problem exists in Camberwell, with people unable to get on to 2 or 3 buses which are full. We really need adequate alternatives i.e. train, tube. The buses are slow and don't get me started about passing through Camberwell on the way home to ED, where often the bus is stopped because someone decides not to pay. I'm glad that you see the bus as a good travel option, I wish I had your patience. To me it is slow and quite an unpleasant experience. I can't wait until the day I never have to use the bus again (I live in hope; please let it be soon!)
  15. During school term we always experience low pressure between 7-8.30am :-(
  16. so near...yet so far..I was hoping that M&S would be on its way to ED..Thanks for the info.
  17. Is it open yet? I miss my pancakes!
  18. would be more useful to have the bakerloo line extended to peckham, camberwell green (or even denmark hill!)
  19. My journey to work has already increased by 1 hour (I drive across blackheath to join the A2)..Today i drove into central London and it was a nightmare. Maybe they have re-phased the lights as a fear-inducing mechanism... I must say that it has worked.
  20. This problem isn't all down to residents. The collection/refuse services appear to take little care when they come round. In recent times I have adopted extra boxes, broken lids, missing lids, other peoples bins and lost mine. At one point I called southwark at least once a month to get replacements or request removal. I've stopped bothering as I have more important problems to deal with...overall it's a waste of time and tax-payers money.

  23. If this person is not obstructing a driveway or is not parking in a restricted area e.g disabled bay, red zone etc surely they should be able to do so without this "harassment"- verbal or written. How can anyone leave such a note? Owning a property or residing in a property on a particular road does not give you priority over the public land. I would be irritated if I couldn't park within close proximity to my home; so i wouldn't live close to a station or hospital unless i had access to off street parking. All the people who say "use a bus!" can say it until you are "blue" in the face but the reality is that the bus is crap and people will choose a car as an easier (and cheaper) option. The public transport available in this area is overcrowded, infrequent & slow. Using public transport to visit patients at home can be a nightmare! time that could be spend working is spent waiting or sitting in traffic and there are few routes which are direct. The return journey to see one patient in parts of SE London could take 40-60 minutes. Walking with a trolley to carry equipment is often impractical but sometimes necessary and still time inefficient. Hospitals should have their own cars or a car pool for staff use during the day which are parked on site. So Kings take responsibility for this. They should also encourage staff to share car journeys.
