It has a thriving night time economy, Random crime can happen anywhere. Try leaving Lordship Lane occasionally. .
  2. In one years time we will be looking back wondering what we were thinking. You live in Europe.

Even if you believe that to be true, surely only one "side" has the greater good in mind rather than a quick financial gain the others have in mind?
  4. We need people who raise people's awareness too and a lot of this is falling to young people at the moment. She and they are not cynical and share an optimism that things can change if enough people take responsibility and engage in direct action. Young people wouldn't know or identify with what a Pol Pot fantasy is and would rather forge a new path as it's their futures that are at stake.
  5. Thank you SE - very helpful.
  6. Agree it's probably worth making a claim through your insurance as they will identify the cause and monitor progress leading to repair. We've just had it done here - did take 3 years though from start to finish and lost a lovely cherry tree in the street too.
  7. I don't think the owner would be happy knowing she had difficult tenants without becoming involved in case it escalates. A lot of the issues are potentially resolvable but there are others and one involves a fence so can't imagine she will be happy getting a bill for replacement/repair if it can be sorted out by taking action now to prevent it. Also a few other neighbours could complain too. It would indeed be depressing if the tenants pressed on not caring a jot and I've learned that sometimes being tenacious can pay dividends.

  9. Thanks Sue - it's one of the options but don't know how long their tenancy is for so trying all other approaches first. I do think the owner has to take some responsibility for who they rent out to so that's why I was trying to locate her/him. If that doesn't work then will try the other options. Just cross that with all the nice weather use of my garden has had to be reduced due to the issues.
  10. Thats different to what you accused her of above.
  11. Oh great, thanks all. The third party sites hadn't occurred to me. Going down the Southwark route will be the final option as would want to try all reasonable neighbour approaches first. Mind you they're not showing the same consideration back. It does seem odd to me that young, intelligent people with a good standard of living, etc, move in and then don't seem to want to enjoy a civil relationship with their neighbours. The attitude that "it's our flat/garden etc and we can do what we like" without showing any consideration to all those round them with regard to noise, daily sanding of furniture outside, parties, loud music, not collecting parcels that we've taken in for days, shrieking after midnight etc etc. smacks of entitlement and sadly it doesn't look as though it's going to change.
  12. No it's a lot more than that these days. It's fine - if things go downhill the LR is an option - just wondered if there was another way apart from asking neighbours etc.
  13. Well I can but if there's a way to establish ownership without a fee would prefer!
  14. Is there a way to establish who owns a property other than going through the Land Registry? We are experiencing noise issues/non cooperative behaviour from tenants next door so need to raise issues with the owner. Thanks.
  15. Went to Dulwich Picture Gallery earlier and it was very unusually deserted. All round the Village too. Hardly anyone on the walk back and even Franks later was quieter than expected. Quite nice.

It's so interesting that Peckhams image has so transformed that people are proud to prefer to say they live there. Great - done of us have always been proud!

Why suddenly pick on Jenny Jones who, as far as is known, hasn't advocated any of those things has she?

Don't think anyone on here actually know where he lives but I'll believe him if he says he lives in Peckham.

  21. If you're really not just trolling what suggestions have you for any of these issues?

Haha all! As Peckham is considered so trendy these days wherever he actually lives it's probably better to say Peckham though I doubt he'd go to the lengths of actually getting off at PR and then walk to Nunhead!
