  1. OK so I found it for you. THIS is the link to the Southwark's Primary Care Trust website.THIS is the link to the ONLINE form. Don't just whinge on EDF, if every single person who responded argued to PCT against 084x numbers, do you think they'd listen? Well, fill out the form, anyway.
  2. This is a copy of a post I posted on a similar thread but is relevant here: I may start a new thread about this, but basically the Southwark PCT (Primary Care Trust) are asking for feedback about their plans (already probably done and dusted) to install four PolyClinics (though they've given them a new name) in Southwark; one in Dulwich, one in Elephant, and I can't remember where the other two are. Rotherhithe and Borough maybe. Anyway, I argued against it because my GPs (Nunhead Surgery) are brilliant, run by caring humans who won't happily transfer to 084x phone numbers and who are independent. But you may have other opinions. I don't have time right now but I am sure if you go into the Southwark PCT website you can get a form sent to you to comment on. And maybe at the surgery itself you can ask for one. NOTE there are TWO questionnaires (again I don't have time to search right now but if you feel really strongly enough about it and strongly enough to complain at the target and not just on here!) one about the polyclinics and one about the 084x numbers.
  3. Good point. Some of you should PM jumpinjourno!
  4. And you could raise the issue here as parking will indeed be discussed.
  5. Yes, specially cnuts corner which I absolutely loved.
  6. There's a major BBC historical drama series being filmed. I am not saying the pirate has anything to do with it.
  7. karter. I don't. I should, but I don't. I am self employed and usually work evenings. But I should be working at home and often come in here instead. You're right. I'm leaving!
  8. I agree, really. I subscribe to a professional magazine which has just decided to stop prodcing, and go online. I am really irritated by that because with a magazine full of articles, you can read one at your leisure, put down the mag, read it again the next day maybe in the loo or bath, go back to it again and read the same article again. On line I just read what I need to, and don't want to go back to it because I am always looking on line at things (like being here!) and look for excuses to pull myself away. A local newspaper would be of interest but I do not like Southwark News or South London press because about 75% of them is advertising and they are all a bit tabloidese and not exactly in depth reporting. What I want is an Independent or Guardian for Southwark. Is that too much to ask for? Yeah, course.
  9. To SeanMacGabhann - would you buy me a pint?
  10. But the point about blind people is that they don't necessarily know they have crossed into a road, whereas if they step (or fall) down off the pavement they know the situation. But I do think that if more of these were put in to place all at the same time across London, there would be major publicity about it and that would be a good thing. I can't wait to see the Exhibition Road example start and was amazed at the news the other night saying that it was going to cost (was it millions?) a lot of money to do it. Just get rid of the signs, smooth the edge of the pavement to blend in with the road, and remember and abide by the first rule of the road. Which is???
  11. To david_carnell Let us know if you get an interview or even the job (I got the tattoo yesterday)!
  12. Indeed, and whilst the raised pavement bits and central reservationh bits still exist, much of Walworth Road was designed along these lines in that there should be no signs everywhere. One of the councillors who posts on here told us about the hassle he faced trying to get Walworth Road plan proved. My main problem with it is that as the road area itself is quite narrow, bikers and cyclists can't over take stationery traffic and busses as easily and safely. I often ride around Sloane Square and I do like the design, but I do truly want to know what the answer is to the blind people* who raised the points they raised in the news reports. *Or whatever the pc people would say.
  13. I agree my "Brilliant" post was a bit tongue in cheek which - as I was writing as it was on - was a bit pointless. Anyway, I was also disappointed in the end, because Dimbleby himself was a bit sneering I felt. As for Piers Morgan, whilst I agree about the negative points made about him, I sometimes feel that if most MPs could get away with it, they would say a lot of the same things but for their imposed political correctness constraints.
  14. But I read all about that on here! And the spelling's better too!
  15. A Liquorish kebab?
  16. If you are sure it was just one minute over, and you find it is true they should have waited 5 minutes, then at the very least ask for confirmation of the calibration of the timing device used to show the time.
  17. Disappointed in the end, and the crap spoken about Peckham. Still I bet louisa was pleased.
  18. Would the panel feel safe buying a kebab in Peckham after the show? BRILLIANT
  19. We have to disagree. I think that when you are unsure of what is in front of you, then it makes you think about what is in front of you... People on mobiles wondering across and not looking - that'll teach 'em.
  20. OMG Heseltine says Jacqui Smith is being investigated and is entitled to silence till the proper authorities come to their decision. He is RIGHT and I can't believe I am agreeing with him. Never did when he had power.
  21. Why is not Jacqui Smith on it? A walk to work for her. Justify her "expenses"! As she walks down there (where is it being filmed by the way, The Pulse?) the helicopters could accompany her from above.
  22. Vegemite please. I HATE Marmite. And Sandwich Spread flavour would be cool too; a guilty secret of mine in Sandwich Spread!
  23. What does East Dulwich think? I agree with the idea but I absolutely agree with the blind man who said he could not therefore tell whether he was on the pavement or the road. If that problem can be sorted out do we think it is a good idea, or a bad one? Basically, outside Sloane Square tube at the junction with Holbein Place, the road / pavement area has no markings, which makes people pay attention a bit more, and this can only be a good thing. In my opinion as both a pedestrian and a biker.
  24. dbboy, it's by the Forest Hill Tavern.
