  1. To confirm that what bli says is correct, there was a staff training closure on Wednesday. Renata
  2. Bambuni are moving into the corner premises that was the site of several pop-up shops (a while ago it was a haberdashery) and I think a cash point (not commission charging one) is going into a new shop front. Renata
  3. New restaurant The Habit on Nunhead Lane and Bambuni is closed until spring as it's moving along a few doors to new premises.
  4. Hi Cathy, Term time Tuesday to Friday: 3.30pm to 7pm. Saturday: 10.30am - 4.30pm. Different hours during holidays. Sunday it is used but not open for standard sessions (eg special needs sessions). I have left a message for the manager re Wednesday, but he hasn't got back to me yet. Renata
  5. I'll investigate and get back to you on this. Renata
  6. Hi Wonderwoman, I'm sorry to hear of your wasted trip. What time did you go? It should have been open. The information I was given by the manager was 11-5 Monday to Friday, closed on Saturday. I know it was open on Tuesday as my own children were there! Renata
  7. it's open 11-5 from today until Friday. Renata
  8. Hi, I think it would be very difficult to do this with a 15-16 year old as this is year 11, GCSE year. If they are 16 before 31st August it may work for them to do a one year course at a 6th form college, depending on their interests. I don't know anything about the Spanish education system and whether a Spanish 16 year old would have any formal qualifications equivalent to GCSEs. There is Christ the King Aquinas College which is a 6th form college and LESOCO (Lewisham Southwark College) which is a further education establishment in the local area. 6th form colleges tend to be more structured and school like than further education colleges so may suit your friend's child better. Renata
  9. Hello all, like Blackwater Street this comes under London and Quadrant and therefore it doesn't call under Southwark's remit to remove it. I have contacted L and Q and asked them to remove it and they are looking into signage/CCTV for this grot spot. Renata
  10. Hi Duncan, this list includes boys' and girls' schools, eg Wilson's is an all boys school. Renata
  11. OK, I've found it: http://www.peckhamryemusicfestival.co.uk/venues/ So it's actually in venues in or close to Rye Lane. My Colleagues from the Lane ward may know more about this, none of the venues are in Peckham Rye Ward. Renata
  12. Sadly, there has been a fatal traffic accident at the Elephant and Castle Roundabout/New Kent Road. The New Kent Road is currently closed and therefore avoid the Elephant and Castle area if you are able to, as there is currently significant traffic congestion. Renata
  13. Sorry dbboy, I don't. I agree it caused huge disruption. There was a small area of highway cordoned off near the junction, but at no point did I seen anyone working there as I passed through! Usually we would know if there are scheduled works involving alterations to bus services, so whatever caused this it was not scheduled work. Renata
  14. Local ward councillors do get periodic lists of planned events. I have currently got a list until Autumn 2016. We get consulted too. I've not heard anything about this proposed Music Festival. I'm wondering if any application has been submitted to the Council yet. There is currently nothing on the events list for 14th May 2016 in Peckham Rye Park. On that date there is a Fun Run in Southwark Park. I would be surprised in an event of such magnitude (compared to other events on Peckham Rye Park) would be happening without consultation having been initiated and it having at least enquiry status on the Council calendar. Renata
  15. Hi John, the national planning policy was revised in the Town and Planning Act 2015. Consulation was done in accordance with that and it's the national standard. Hi Wb80 as the Peckham Rye Ward councillors have called it into committee it won't be decided under delegated powers by the planning officer. He is aware of the number of objections. Renata
  16. Yes,thanks I meant removed , the problems were caused by 4 way temporary lights with long phases that caused disruption for two days. Renata
  17. The lights have been fixed Renata
  18. The Peckham Rye Ward Councillors have called this application in to be heard by Committee. Renata
  19. Hi, it can be 5-6 years between full Ofsted inspections if a school has been judged good or outstanding. A mini-inspection is done after around 3 years and if this is of the same level or better than the original inspection than it will be another 2-3 years until a full inspection. If the mini-inspecion raises concerns, this would trigger a full inspection. Schools rated below good have more frequent inspections. Renata
  20. Hi please email me your concerns about this development and I will liaise with my colleagues about calling it in to committee. Renata
  21. Hi Ive raised the Holmes Place/Oakhurst Grove issues with officers and asked them to have the dumped material and grafitti removed and see if they can identify the culprits. Renata
  22. Hi David, stay and play means a parent/carer stays rather than drops off, as happens at nursery, and usually such sessions are on an ad hoc basis, so you turn up on the day. Renata edited for poor grammar!
  23. hi Karen, I would suggest looking at their Facebook page Facebook/unitedallstars on checking this I could see that today's session was cancelled due to waterlogged pitches.(sorry, I just saw your post) Renata
  24. Surrey Docks Farm has a room suitable for parties and the animals. Renata
  25. Hi Sheemy and Fly. I now heard back from senior staff and discussed it at length with them by phone. These new guidelines were put on the system on the 1st December 2015. What is picked up by the bulky waste refuse service hasn't changed from before 1st December. The 180cm rule is meant to apply to items not on the list. The reason for the list is apparently to make it easier for people to book their bulky waste collection using the web on their phone. The list is not exhaustive eg I asked about wardrobes, and apparently they are categorised as cupboards and therefore are collected. If you are disposing of something in parts like a broken flatpacked item, dismantle it and tape/tie the pieces together for it to count as one item. Furniture in reusable condition is recycled via the British Heart Foundation Shop on the old Kent road. If its only furniture or electricals in a reusable condition call/ email the British Heart Foundation on the Old Kent Road https://www.bhf.org.uk/about-us/find-bhf-near-you/old-kent-road-furniture-electrical-store or ALD life in Peckham/Forest Hill/Penge etc for pickup http://www.aldlife.org/shop/charity-shops/. This means that items such as mattresses, doors, cupboards/wardrobes, kitchen units, sofas fridges etc that are around the 2 metre length or height are suitable to be disposed of via the Southwark bulky waste collection. The guidance is going to be rewritten. Apparently this is the first they knew of issues with it! The size was put in as some residents were putting out items too large to fit on the vans. Renata
