Well may I ask what you expected to see out of an East Dulwich bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically... Foxy

But one you have your starter in large batches they will last for years when 'fed' the rest is simple. Most Pizza palaces do not use a Sourdough base. Dulwich

That's a good way of confirming to the caller your name and number.. Foxy
  5. I was Singing Dirty old town. I always do when I'm wearing my hat.. I was in the EDT but talking to other people and roaming. It was all a bit raucous.. (spelling) ? and went on until chucking out time. Foxy.

Which explains why you had a hang-over this morning. :) Yes the food was excelent all arriving at the same time .. which is pretty good as there were 10 of us.. The Menu is the same as the old place.. and are indeed the same menus. Should print new menus. BYOB aside which is a bit of a pain because some of the ladies prefer wine and often choose and share once they know whos there. I think The new Jaflong also needs some interior change as it seems a little soulless. It's a large area and needs some pictures... wall furnishings.. Plants.. But as I said food was excellent I had popadoms (Shared) Sheek Kebab.. Pillau Rice.. Chicken Jalfrezi.. Peshwari Naan. All good. Run out of beer... Could not be bothered to go out for more.. Foxy
  10. Making Displays ticket only and indeed charging and restricting numbers will no doubt mean more people will be having Fireworks at home in unsuitable surroundings.. Expect more accidents and a bigger strain on our Fire Services.. DulwichFox
  11. The Windows Technical Support scam is well documented and we have all become aware of it. However there seems to be a new approach to the same scam. I have recieved a couple of calls claiming to be from th B.T. Technical Support Team. I was told there was a problem with by B.T. Router causing errors on my P.C.. and that I would be recieving a new router the next day in the post. Then the scam seems to take on the same proccedure as the original .. asking people to log on to their computer. I just told the caller that my number was a Premium Rate Number and was being charged at 38p per min. He cleared down. I googled this and yes it's already been established as a new scam. DulwichFox
  12. One of the big houses (ground Floor Flat) oposite The Great Exhibition C.P. Road. has Loud music on Saturday nights. Backs on to my place. Fortunately I sleep at the front so cannot really hear it. Loud music and Strobe lights with patio doors open on to garden. Goes on till very late/early morning DulwichFox.

Most of the staff have moved to the new place.. The staff at the old Jaflong are new(ish) including the Chef. Apart from the owner's wife who is waiting tables and taking telephone orders. Foxy

I was told to move on even though there were many people standing ouside the pub oposite drinking. Just a jobswoth in a flat hat. A commissioneer type.. Foxy.
  17. Back on subject.. I spoke to one of the Jaflong staff last night who claimed Jaflong on L.L is staying and not being sold. Now I believed the deal was done and dusted. So now I don't know. ??? Curry Club at Jaflong Tandoori tonight. So let's see. ?? Foxy

Always fall asleep 10 mins. after they dim the lights.. (do they still do that) or is it a health and safety issue. Foxy

I entered the cemetry from the back gate. But I noticed the sign at the main gate. There are not many people around to 'Tell you off' as you say.. and no complaints from the residents. But.. It's against the Bye-Laws.. Foxy
  21. The pictures on North Cross Road of historic East Dulwich are lovely.. I dont think there will be much historic photos of this day and age.. Things change constantly. Nothing stands still long enough to say East Dulwich 2016 It would need to be East Dulwich May 2016.. E.D August 2016.. DulwichFox

You and *Bob* are a bit of a double act.. It's funny how you seem to bounce off of each other.. No Foxy critics for ages and then two come along at the same time.. Are you bus drivers by any chance.. ? Foxy
  23. There are many places where photography is not allowed. Nunhead Cemetary is one such space. There is a notice inside the gate that clearly says No Unauthorised Filming or Photograhy Allowed. Some places 'allow' photography with phones and ipods but not Film/Digital Cameras.. It's very complicated. Foxy.

Back in 1969 I was on block release at Lewisham College Lewisham Way. Opposite was a Cafe that did the most amazing Pasties with thick crusty pastry.. Lots of brown sauce. They sold Dozens of them at break time. One time I needed the loo which was outside in the yard. There was 2 Large dustbins full with empty Kit-e-Kat tins. Never put off though.. Foxy
