  9. As for drinks.. Guinness Extra Cold.. OK it's easier to pour. but where to get the normal stuff. It's as rare as Hens Teeth.. Foxy
  10. Agree with Mick Mac.. I do not eat many Burgers but sweet brioche not for me.. A good Sourdough bun is better . IMHO. The Bishop (when they first opened) used to do one of the best burgers.. In a sourdough bun served with the usual tomato and lettuce and with chilli sauce and Stokes Tomato Ketchup. DulwichFox

  15. Now if was selling Clothes I would use it. I do buy clothes (Jeans) from M&S because they do my leg length. And I buy shirts and other clothes from M&S. too. I not need an M&S for food. DulwichFox
  16. It's the first of June tomorrow and in 3 weeks time the nights start drawing in :) There are 207 days 'till Christmas Foxy
  17. Good point raised by Liam Fox on the Andrew Marr Show. If the question on the 23rd June was 'Should we (the UK) Join the E.U' and the answer was no.. .. then we should vote to leave. DulwichFox
  18. rendelharris Wrote: I didn't say it was going to be as nice - but if heated I would definitely use it in the winter and in the rain and I think many others would too. You would use it.. and many others.. How many ? How many to justify the massive cost to heat the water in the pool.. 100 150 ? every day rain or shine. Foxy
  19. Wolseley 1500 with a wooden back quarter light.. It cost ?30.00 and I recently found the receipt for the insurance. Dated 2-12-1970 ?17.00. Seventeen pounds. Skidded on sharp bend in Broad Oak near Rye and broke half shaft trying to get it out. Cost ?5.00 to fix. Foxy (on the right)

Yes.. I can definitely see the similarity DulwichFox

I got 7 of the original twisted wax blue bags in a packet of Smiths Crisps. It was from the Globe Pub on Peckham Hill Street.. It's one of those things you never forget.. Foxy
  22. Any Bridge across the Thames needs to be practical in easing road traffic. A Garden Bridge would have no practical use.. and it's upkeep would cost a fortune . .. So how much would it cost to visit.. ?5.00 ? ?10.00 ? DulwichFox
  23. I'm not a big Fish eater and Stein is not just a Fish Chef.. His Global travel series was amazing. Remember, he is still an old 'Hippie ' at heart He produces dishes that I might not ordinarily eat but would If coming from him .. Very inspiring man.. Foxy
  24. LadyNorwood Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- I absolutely loathe Rick Stein - all he ever does is sneer at British people, food, customs etc - he's a snobbish hypocritical arse (in my opinion) as he loves Brits when they spend money in his over priced restaurants... Stein's Fish & Chips   Haddock ?10.75 Hake ?10.75 Plaice ?10.95 Lemon sole ?11.50 Cod ?9.95 Served with chips, lemon wedge and parsley Cheaper than most E.D. Pub Fish and Chips. and similar to Olley's in Herne Hill DulwichFox

You can go to the Cinema ... Pub... whatever the weather Rain/Wind or Snow.. Some people go to the Pub every night.. And different people will go to the Cinema on various nights.. .. People are not going to an outdoor pool in the Rain . Winter. Heated or not. and wont be going every day. Serious swimmers will go to the baths on Crystal Palace rd. I don't think there is enough space to create a facility such as there is in Brockwell Park. And anyone wanting such facilities will go there. There are many things that would be nice.. An Ice Rink.. Bowling Alley... But you cannot have everything.. Foxy P.S. Now I know you frequent The Ivy House but since you mentioned the E.D. Cinema, how many times have you been. ?
