Kids steal cars and get rewarded by being sent on car maintenance courses. Good kids get nothing. Good kids get bored too. Try telling someone whose Mum or Grandma has just had her bag snatched and knocked about a bit. the lad did it was 'Not a bad lad' . 'he's had a hard life' I don't care. They are bad machines.. You cannot keep mending a bad machine.
  2. I have never supported UKIP or the BNP. I was on the march from Trafalgar Square to Victoria Park. 1978 Rock against the nazis victoria park 1978 : the clash, tom robinson band, x-ray spex, steel pulse, I had bottles thrown at me by The National Front passing the Blade Bone Pub Bethnal Green road. Now a Noodle Bar. ?? Only last night I was in dispute with a such an 'Arsehole' mentioned above. A Portuguese Racist who had lived in Johannesburg ranting on about the 'Bleeks' there and living here in the UK having too much power. In my (me) own country. Why wasn't I doing something about it. The likes of such extreme verbal racism I have not heard anywhere for a long time. He was still supporting apartheid and would like to see it here. The point I'm making here is not that such discrimination was not around in East Dulwich 20 years ago but I certainly was not part of it. As inferred above. However he was not the type of people I was referring to. I was referring the prats that after drinking 2 Jaeger Bombs think they can fight the world and then go out and kick wing wing mirrors off of half a dozen cars. 'I'm the f****** kiddie brigade.' That wasn't around 20+ years ago. Foxy.

Well at least 20+ years ago it was OUR shithole. And not that of the a***holes that frequent the bars and pubs along Lordship Lane at the weekend. East Dulwich Tourists. Where do they come from.? 20+ years ago there was still a real sense of community. That has gone and I feel the likes of which will never be seen in these parts again. DulwichFox
  4. They came to me... Said they were not selling anything. then said with a smile. 'They thought I was too young' Politely suggesting I was too old. So they may of been targeting young people. No idea what they wanted. ? DulwichFox
  5. I did hear that to sort out the parking issues in and around East Dulwich a multi-story car park is to be built on Goose Green. There will be Public Toilets. These however will be closed at all times but a key will be available by emailing Southwark Council who will arrange delivery. 2 days notice will be required. A roof top bar will be available to rival Franks in Peckham. There will be Live music at weekends but will have to finish by 02.00am There is also provision for up to 5 Food Vending Vehicles. Sounds good.. DulwichFox.

I've only been 4-5 times. Never more than 10 people in on those occasions. I would not class it as a pub. It's not a pub. It's expensive and I find it soulless and depressing. The EDT is busy because it's the only place on Lordship Lane that still looks like a pub. It's very popular and seems to of acquired a lot of ex Bishop clients. It's my pub of choice because I go there to socialize and know people there. I always find someone to talk to there. It is also reasonably priced for the area. It has got very busy lately and not ideal if you want to sit down and have a chat with someone. If the Cherry Tree was the only choice I would rather stay at home. DulwichFox

Absolutely agree.. Cyclists need to ensure they can be seen. For their own safety. Pedestrians need to take care too. If you run across the road in front of a car. We have all done it. Then you stand the risk of getting run over. Cyclists knock people down too. Mainly on pavements. I was almost hit when I stepped off the pavement to see if my bus was coming, and a cyclist came up behind me cycling on the wrong side of the road against the flow of traffic. That was in Lordship Lane early one morning. DulwichFox

  16. I'm off on my travels in a couple of days and have a nice 13.55 flight from Gatwick. However on my return I will land at 23.00 and estimate I will be at Victoria 01.00 It will be a Thursday night Friday morning. I thought the 185 ran all night but they do not start until >04.00pm Any advice on alternative routes. don't want to pay ?20.00 + for a cab when I can travel for free on buses. Thank you in advance. Foxy
  17. Yeah.. With Virtual Reality one could sit in any old dross hole and experience the visual delights of some of the more salubrious outlets on The Lane. Have avoided naming either dross holes or more salubrious outlets. Foxy. :)
  18. The French House seating.. inspired by Dickens.. Foxy :)
  19. Around 10.00am I was waiting for a bus outside the old ED Police Station. A motor cyclist passed at great speed. Engine Screaming. I thought what an idiot. Then.....BANG. The traffic immediately came to a halt. I walked up to see a young learner rider laying motionless on the floor. He had hit a van virtually head on and had ripped the offside wing off the van. Several drivers reported him passing them at speed but was not able to cut back in and avoid hitting the van. The van driver was clearly shocked but glad the lad was still alive. Witnesses reported the van driver did not stand a chance. There was a big crowd and many witnesses. we all thought the rider had been killed. Then he came round but was dazed and confused. The police and ambulance did not come for 15-20 mins. Looks like he had miraculously escaped serious injury. Was able to sit up and move his limbs. I came back that way 11.30 ish and the ambulance was just leaving the scene. The rider was a complete plank. However I hope he is all right and has learnt a very valuable lesson. DulwichFox
  20. Just received my Millwall Season Ticket. Might end in tears. :) Foxy
  21. I think it is bad policy in principal not to accept cash. There may be people who will be left stranded late at night. ? Having said that.. I have a Freedom Pass but seldom travel on Buses. I spent most of my 40 working years either waiting for them or sitting on them. I get an immediate sense of dread as soon as I board a bus. They set me in such a foul mood, that by the time I get to where I'm going, I wish I'd stayed at home. Even the thought of having to get one irritates me. Worse still late at night when people are drunk. Shouting, arguing , Did not mind it in the old days when you got the occasional old drunk singing his socks off. Got to stop now. Beginning to sound like the Miserable Old Foxy of past.. :) PS. I Never carry Credit Cards at night preferring to use cash. If I were to lose my Freedom Pass I would be knackered if I could not use cash. DulwichFox

FFS, women have enough problems feeling safe without being followed to their place of work. Have you lost your mind suggesting such a thing. DulwichFox
