Uncle Ben... People call Me(Foxy) a miserable git... You outshine me every time. I do not have any children.. but it was great to see how excited and well behaved all the kids were. Dancing and having their faces painted. Real shame the weather turned cold and wet. Big Thank you to Sue & Nygel for helping to put the thing together with the music. We do not get many community events like this. People need to make the most them. Many people do. Foxy.

Japanese knotweed ? which has the scientific name fallopia japonica ? was introduced into Britain by the Victorians. Incredibly invasive, it can grow 4in a day from April to October and a tiny root can establish itself as a plant in just ten days. Apparently solid structures such as tarmac and flooring in houses are no barrier to its growth and the weed also creates a risk of flooding if leaves clog waterways. Knotweed is recognised by its shovel-shaped leaves, bamboo-like stem and white flowers produced in autumn. If you discover the plant on your property these are some of the steps you should take to prevent further problems: Immediately create a 21ft exclusion zone around the suspect plant. Do an initial spray with glyphosate-based weed killer. Do not excavate or move soil from the exclusion zone without instruction from the local authority. Cutting should be done with sharp secateurs or pull it out by hand to avoid dispersal of fragments. Wash feet and clean shoes when leaving the contaminated area. If you cut down knotweed, you can burn it on site or bury it ? 16ft deep, covered with a root-barrier membrane and with inert topsoil ? with permission from the Environment Agency. Material taken from the site must be disposed of at a licensed facility. couple-demolish-300k-home-rid-Japanese-knotweed http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2052337/Hertfordshire-couple-demolish-300k-home-rid-Japanese-knotweed.html Foxy

Herne Tavern play area to be demolished
DulwichFox replied to cazzyr's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It would seem that not much will change. People will still be able to enjoy a Drink/Meal with their Children. Except the children will not be able to tear around and will need to be more closely monitored. Take the kids to the park first so that they can expend all their energy, work up an appitite and enjoy a quite relaxed meal/ drink afterwards. Cannot see the problem. I suppose there may be an element of Pubs worrying about being Sued by parents when one of their little darlings falls over and grazes their knee. Fox -

Hi stevo.. Not too sure what you are actually doing. Are you talking about FTP to web hosting when you say upload. It could be anti-virus preventing completion of upload. Possible a Buffer problem. I need to type in notepad and cut and paste if typing long posts. EDF always times out at about 8-10 mins. if I do not post message. Really Annoying. Fox

Hi all Techy folks... I have an old installation of Dreamweaver 4 resides @ C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 4\Dreamweaver.exe I have now downloaded Dreamweaver CS6 Trial Version. resides C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Dreamweaver CS6\Dreamweaver.exe Which seems to be working fine. However in I highlight any .HTML file and use 'open with' Dramweaver it is opening in Dreamweaver 4. If I use select program and navigate to the CS6 address.. I get an extra DW 4 icon and it opens with Dreamweaver 4 If I rename the Dreamweaver.exe from C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 4\ and then use select program and navigate to the CS6 address. no icon is created so cannot open the file. CSS files 'open with' option opens fine with CS6. That is because .CSS file association is set to CS6. I cannot set HTM & HLML associations to CS6 as they need to open in a Browser when clicked. I do not want to uninstal DW4 just yet and not sure if that would solve the problem.. Any ideas Please.. Foxy

Thank you right-clicking. for usefull link. Penguin68.. I have BT ADSL service. I use my own Belkin (BT ready) Wireless Router.. I am supplied by 2W Copper. I worked in Telecoms for 40 years but never worked with ADSL Line cards. Although I understand they are just connected at the exchange with 2-wire jumpers. BT infinity uses VDSL andthe line cards are connected by co-axial digital jumpers.. (2Mbt ?) I have spoken to technical staff at BT. on several occasions. I have had them call me back. Some suggest the copper 2 wire stays.. and others say No it will be Fibre to my door. (right up to the Hub) Cannot see how they could supply Fibre to my hub. My 2 wire is supplied via Pole to the upstairs and the internal wiring reappears downstairs at the other end of the house. No idea what route it takes but all wiring concealed. Do not want the hassel of having to re-wire. I'm happy to stay as I am but BT are saying the old ADSL will soon be discontinued. It is very slow 2.6 Mbts/s download 0.9 Mbts/s upload. but does not compact on my usage. I can remember 56k home use.. In the old days modems worked at 1,200 baud. 1.2k and even as low as 110 baud.
