Further to my previous advice - if you have the chip number and have exhausted all possible avenues at changing the info do certainly give petlog a go. I recently updated chip info myself on a furry chum. Very straight forward and easy to do. RegMorley, we've tried near enough all the local vets over the years but always return to the one up the top of Lordship Lane - Medivet (has been called many things in the past). Always easy to get an emergency appointment or give information at late hours of where to go/what to do. You will always get mixed reviews from all places, but in my opinion Medivet is the best. Hope this helps.

185 bus (I have found it to be exceptionally poor)
KalamityKel replied to EDNate's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
mary123 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Local buses from Dulwich are very long and > guaranteed around an hour's journey minimum for a > 3 plus mile route.. it's a pain This has always been the case. It hasn't changed. It's not really so much a pain, you can at least plan for it. Granted if you're new to a particular route then it can seem a bit "really it takes this long?" but it can easily become part of the daily commute. Regarding the 185, if you're not a fan of waiting around or prefer to feel like you're making progress on your journey, bus hop. Get whichever bus comes along to Camberwell, then a choice of 185, 436 or 36 to Vauxhall and then whichever from there. It does feel like you're moving. Been doing this route the best part of 15 years. -
Not wishing to start a whole debate or argument in any way but, out of curiousity, why would people be claiming compensation? :s
-
Your vet should have told you how to go about it - they can update details for you, or at least add a note to the chip - providing the feline chum has clearly been living with you for a significant amount of time like you say they have. In some cases too the chip can be replaced. We've had a similar thing although with the owners giving our beast over to us but never changing the chip details. I must stress though this is purely in instances where the furry friend has clearly moved in or owners have moved away/given up pet. This does not mean people (not you RegMorley) can claim any friendly visitor.

Giving personal info like that from one user to another without their knowledge/agreement is a no no. Looks like the person you are after has posting yesterday so maybe you've already had a response? If not be patient. Not everyone is online all the time to pic up messages/notifications.

The 176 bus (has the service got extremely bad?)
KalamityKel replied to bloodoranges's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's not THAT bad. It's predictable at least and doesn't take any extra time to journey... you just think it does. -

eBay advice - item stinks of smoke!

Could be argued that no item comes with/is made NOT smelling of smoke either... I'm not saying it's right to accept such an item but don't feel you can argue that it's not as described as it didn't say either way. As Growlybear says, lets hope the seller is reasonable and understands the gripe. -

Where did I suggest sending children to play unattended in another part of the world whilst parents/those responsible for children enjoyed their time in a pub? I didn't. My point was that if the OP was concerned there was no where to take the children in the area then they have missed the opportunity which is opposite the site in question. I don't agree with children in pubs - my own opinion, to which I'm entitled to and many would also agree. There are other places to go with children to dine whether it's with an outside space to let children run riot or not. Simple. -

Hoooooray!!!! "You could sit and eat your dinner outside while the children played safely in the children?s play area. Now there is absolutely nowhere for children to run around. " How about the park... just across the road! -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?

I'd just like to add it seems staff have decided to move the bags back in to the "back yard". This is still not dealing with the issue of the waste though nor the fact it was dumped on the street in the first place! -
former East Dulwich councillor - how can I help?
KalamityKel replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi James, Wondering whether you can help. I've already logged this via the Southwark reporting thingamy but never sure how successful such a route is... The Curry Cabin is getting progressively worse with it's waste management that it's getting completely ridiculous now. Over the past couple of weeks they have been leaving the huge rubbish bins on the pavement at the rear of their property on Chesterfield Grove. The rubbish in the bins have been piled to extreme levels and now this morning at least 20+ blacks bags have been left on the pavement (see pictures attached). It could be argued that the bags are not theirs but on closer inspection the bags have food containers inside and other items they use. I'm sure you'll agree this is not acceptable. Not only is this blocking the pavement to pedestrians there are also huge concerns for health/environment. Much of the time bags are kept within their own property (piled up high) for long periods of time. Not only is the stench from the rotting waste vile it's attracting vermin and also any liquid waste leaks out on to the pavement. This latest action is horrible. It would certainly seem they are failing to act as a responsible business. ETA: the pictures were taken early this morning and the rubbish is still there now. -

That's making quite an assumption. -

where can I safely recycle old mob phones and laptops?

It's not the apps that store information but the phone itself... sledgehammer or a trip to mount doom :)) -
Sometimes it's the browsers that don't like it (IME). I often find when one browser isn't happy I switch to another and it's "OK". The site is generally bad though since their "upgrade". Although saying that, the old system struggled too!

KalamityKel replied to vito's topic in The Lounge
Remember to wipe your mobile phone too - not just a factory reset. Data can still be retrieved even after you think you've deleted it (diskdigger can reveal a lot of information you think has gone). There are some reasonable apps out there that offer ways to delete things/overwrite the information several times and all that jazz. -
