Will definitely be going back. make sure and check out the public transport first .no probs there jez used to live 2 doors up from the pub on ivanhoe rd although i drank in the vale(hamlet, cherry tree, manor etc etc)and always walked back to the gaff never had a prob. whether or not that was due to the frequent lock-ins which meant i was walking back at some ungodly hour i dont know but in the 2 yrs i spent there never any probs with hoods, loud noise or any other anti-social behaviour.mind you thats 14 yrs ago.

i used to get letters only through the box with anything bigger left on the step, when i confronted the postie about it her excuse was that she thought id look outside for anything bigger when i heard the letters dropping, luckily nothing ever went missing. when i mentioned to her that i wasnt always in when the post came and that id look up her bosses details and make them aware of her practice, i was met with a tut and humph, no probs since mind.

how about building 3 wheeled buggy lanes? -
well in that case come on real, that will pay rooneys wages for the month. on a different topic(but still football related admin), i listened to arthur smith on radio the other day discussing the merits of the baddiel and skinner hit 3 lions (30 years of hurt).as arthur correctly pointed out it was released in 1996, 30 years after england won the world cup (and arnt we sick of hearing about it), but arthur pointed out that he wasnt hurting in 67,68 or 69 because england were still world champs he only started hurting in 1970 when brazil stole englands crown,so although it would,nt have been as catchy would 24 years of hurt not have been more accurate.

whats the point of closing a pub on a monday night or any other night for that matter. reminds me of when i first crossed the water i was living in a place called locksbottom in kent and decided to pop out for a swift half only to be told by the landlady at 1455hrs to make it a swift one as they closed in 5 mins, took me a while to get over that one, i thought the days of pubs closing during the day were long gone, obviously not.

Anyone thinking of opening a veggie restaurant?
spadetownboy replied to James's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
i dont mind going to veggie restaurants as long as theres a nice big rump steak to go with my onions and mushrooms. joking aside i,ve been to a few and as eileen has pointed out they can be a bit repetative menu wise. a better option would be to go for a non-meat restaurant ie allowing fish to be cooked there,my better half is vegetarian but will eat fish not meat and whereas when we,ve been to totally vegetarian restaurants i have been a bit stumped espicially as i dont eat cheese(cant stand the stuff)i am partial to a bit of fish.probably got a better chance than totally no meat at all. -
the blue mountain was never about the food it was always the coffee and tea which it was renowned for and even then it was more of a place to go for a cuppa and a chat rather than a bit of gorden blue(sic) and then you bought your tea and coffee for home enjoyment.i,ve been going there for a brew for years and will long continue to do so.its a ramshakle old place and i dont know what everyone else thinks but its got a bit of character about it and thats good enough for me.

well if it stops them crapping all over the place im all for it

hooray im sorry i havnt a clue is back on r4.
-
its always been shit imho, probably the most over rated area of london
-
to be brutally honest if it had,nt been for the media storm which has brewed up it was more than likely that not much more than c4s usual wed night audience would have watched the program, now because of said so storm its probably going to be the most watched program that night. whether or not its in the publics interest to see the program is obviously open to debate but freedom of broadcasting must be allowed otherwise we are going back to the dark days of censorship under thatcher et al. as for the two sons yep its not too pleasant for them but in my opinion its no worse than the constant obsession that the daily mail has with diana and as ever the choice it there to either watch it or not and one suspects that even the vigorous opponent of the show might have a sneaky look.
