  1. hard to beat a bit of virgin groove,or planetrock.
  2. it does have echos of the huntley affair, almost too close to the mark infact, but its an established fact that murderers do tend to return to the scene of the crime whilst the investigation is still live, whether its an attempt to gloat or to throw investigators off the scent has yet to be decided, but police will always pay particular attention to crowds around a murder scene in an attempt to pick up some clues esp from a persons non-verbal behaviour.thats one reason when in a lot of murder cases family members are always encouraged to give press conferences not just to raise profile of the case but precisely because the plod will be scrutinising their behaviour for any tell-tale signs of guilt, because as it stands stranger murder is still very rare, most victims are known by their killer.
  3. have to agree el paso is the business stick to a simple starter and fajitas and you cant go wrong, copious amounts of cocktails and ice cold lager compliment it very well. as previously mentioned it does have a fair sized function room up top with a bar as well, been to a few work does there and theres always been a good time had by all.
  4. best night for me was at the edt in 1998 there was a charity gig for one of the local schools the likes of jo brand, steve frost, malcolm hardie, julian cleary and al murray all made guest appearances plus a couple of others i cant remember.highlight of the evening was the finale when hardie and 2 others performed the balloon dance,as i was front row i tried successfully to stop myself choking with laughter all the while worrying about the performers pubes dropping into my pint.
  5. ethnic minorities are not just judged by colour, nationality also defines ones ethnicity, therefore as an irishman i am part of an ethnic minority group whos posts on this site as is sean.if you take that into context of the 90% of honkys at the festival last year it would be safe to assume a fair percentage of those were members of an ethnic minority. you only have to cast your eyes around the streets of ed to see how big a part the members of ethnic minority groups play, just because they dont go to the pub dosent mean they dont exist.
  6. i like mockney often cut through the estate at all times of day and night and have never had a problem.i actually have two very close friends who have bought properties there and they are extremely spacious 3 bed roomed flats with seperate living room, diner, kitchen and bathroom. i have often stayed over and again there has been no issues ie shootouts at 3am,drum n bass to all hours.just because its an estate dosent mean its like something out of shameless,it is actually occupied by families and professionals who take a pride in where they live and look after it accordingly, and believe it or not its actually a fairly pleasant place to live.
  7. i used to play banjo/vocals in a trad irish group in a pub in the village of warringstown in county armagh called the village inn....hence we were known as "the village people". and before you ask yes there was the odd builder there and the cops only came in after closing.no injuns mind.
  8. theres unfortunately a fine line between letting kids grow up and also about being neurotic about them and while i appreciate that events such as what is presently happening and the likes of soham etc are rare and unusual, i would rather be a neurotic parent than a grieving one, and i dare anyone to say different.
  9. im not judging anybody and i fear that at this stage a happy ending is increasingly unlikely, but i just find it hard to fathom how a parent could leave 3 young children alone while they go out for the night, and i fell i may not be alone on this one.
  10. thoughts go out to them but what the hell were the parents up to leaving the kids alone while they went out.the restaurant is reported to be 100yds from their appartment, i live less than 100yds from springers and i wouldnt even think of leaving the kids asleep and alone while i went for a bite with the missus. i appreciate its a different ball game whilst on holiday but surely in a foreign country its even more reason to be vigilant.the real tragedy of the whole affair is that the complex provides a free creche for kids to play and sleep in while the parents eat in peace and quiet and they chose not to use it.i can only pray they get a second chance.
  11. perhaps bb is being a little bit over sensitive in that her perception of what is loud differs to others, something which appears to be a bit of a thread on this site ie kids at the herne etc. please do accept that others have the right/ability to speak as well and if in future it does get consistently loud no doubt you have a tongue in your head use it and ask if they could pipe down, otherwise be prepared to shut up and put up.

  14. im doing a 10k run,how i got roped into it i,ll never know as a quick sprint for the 185 usually does me in,but all those months of training should pay off.
  15. give it 5 years.......
  16. you,re all forgetting those who were 0-4 6 yrs ago are now 6-10, therefore the newborns since the census are just replacing those who have grown up and moved on to better things eg primary school.so probably no real change.
  17. or how about making cyclists aware that the big black bit in the middle is where they are supposed to ride their bikes-not the pavement.
  18. thats nothing theres a street in maidstone called "knightrider street", and even worse thant that theres a street in sandwich called "no name street".obviously a bit of a billy no mates street.but back on topic honor oak is a nice enough place if a bit on the q side.
