Do You Know Anyone Who Has Been Mugged Recently?

I have never heard of them, which probably means they don't work around here. -

Are there any young school age kids who read this forum? Maybe the muggings I hear about so often are confined to the under 21 crowd - coming home from school, on buses, walking home from a friend's house, football practice, the pub or even church???? Yes Doodles, the school and police should come together, or simply be out there protecting these young people instead of giving out fines for dropping cigar butts!!! -
Sorry for starting this, but I think its important to make a point about what actually happens in East Dulwich and how it gets dealt with by the local police. Positive comments very much appreciated.

Mark I get my information from the kids that get mugged. Each day, I hear from another parent that their son or daughter has been mugged......its been going on for years, and unfortunately parents from these schools have resorted to driving their kids everywhere. What a shame. -

Sean Just saw this thread now, and yes, I agree, its not nice being fined for something so trivial when school kids and adults are mugged every day in East Dulwich and nothing happens to prevent that!!! The council just wants to make money, forget about protecting young people and adults trying to walk home from school or get off a bus. There's my rant in defense of you. -
I don't think single women are viewed as spinsters....they may be regarded more as predators or threat, hence their lack of invites to married couples dinner parties!!!! While we are on the topic, why are married men such predators as well, especially at dinner parties???

I blame that trap on the directors who want AP to be the same as he was in the Godfather, over and over again!!

Its very rare for Best Actor Oscar to be awarded twice to the same person, DDL got it for My Left Foot as well, so he does have a pretty wide range of talent....was No Country very violent?
-
I also loved the Kite Runner, looking forward to seeing No Country, why was Atonement overlooked as well?
-
I don't know - I haven't seen the film yet.
-
Is anyone surprised by the results? Daniel Day Lewis certainly deserved Best Actor for There Will be Blood; haven't seen No Country - La Vie de Rose was fantastic, so on that score both Actor and Actress awards went to the best of the bunch. Anyone have other thoughts?
-
Yes Rose, there are fewer post offices in the states than there are here, and have less services on offer. I feel it would be unfortunate to lose another PO here as they provide so much for the community. When the PO on Wood Vale shut a few years ago it forced people back into their cars, which either means we are all lazy or we were driving the elderly to the nearest one. Also mothers and children now have to find another means of transport apart from walking, defeating the whole purpose of trying to help the environment.

Sorry Sara, please explain!!

How does this affect your no claims bonus if you keep switching to new policies?

There is a lot of anti-American feeling in this country, so the forum is simply representing what is said most days here. -

Enjoy the drink and don't think about interventions of any kind, apart from interpersonal ones!! -
I could ask simply...has anyone got anything romantic planned.....ever...now or in the future? With anyone? is that open ended enough???
