Before you know it secondary transfer too. Depends on budget as to what you buy but we've been just between the Lane and the Village for 14 years now and of the places I've lived in Dulwich this is the best of both worlds. Dulwich is really good for children (and parents) some of our children (now late teens/early twenties) still meet with friends they went to the Infants and Junior Schools with. I went to school in the Village and still keep in contact with school pals from this time. Hope your move goes well and you'll soon be saying "you're not from round 'ere are you?"
  2. These things change as the management of the force changes. The old East Dulwich nick, opposite the Uplands is still a police station of sorts i think and where the corrupt officer(s) were based. But became too small for purpose so they built the new one, particularly with horses in mind. Now the horses have gone it's too big for purpose. It is ugly but probably designed as a bit of a fortress in case we all take to the streets. Hotbed of radicalism this forum is. Evening all. Non PC Oldie

Blair, Major, Thatcher, Heath even. They all enjoyed being PM. I just don't think his hearts in it. He looks very unsure of himself and comes across as completely unconvincing, to me. Just read Private Eye and his (GB's) brother is head of media relations at EDF (the French energy firm) who look like they are going to be building all these new Nuclear power stations no one wants. Have I missed something?

  11. Also don't go there the afternoon the private schools break up. You can imagine the 'Oh My Gods' and 'OK yahs'
  12. Well, got another curry from BBC last night and it was very poor. Would have joined the Curry Club but couldn't last night. But BBC was very quiet indeed. Looked like they had very few orders and only three or four staff in. Have they burnt out already?

Radio four yesterday morning asked him if he was enjoying being PM. He didn't say yes. I'm not enjoying him being PM. I don't think the english like being governed by a scot. Whats the betting on his tenure being fairly short. God save us, it's Cameron next.
  17. Check out the education side too DPG Education. They have lots of family art events. My personal favourite painting there is Old Walton Bridge by Caneletto. The Caneletto exhibition was amazing.
  18. Try and stay downstairs, I think the foods good for what it is.
  19. Left ED at 04.36 this morning and arrived Thiefrow at 05.16 went through Camberwell up to Vauxhall along embankment etc etc to A4 & M4. But coming back I had a tip yesterday to come off at Hammersmith go over Putney Bridge and follow the South Circular and then cut through Dulwich. We left at 06.30 ish and were back before 07.30 very busy on M4 but after that very clear and fast.
  20. I've got to meet a flight landing there at 05.30 Tuesday and I'm driving. By the time they've got off the plane and picked up luggage etc we will be hitting the rush hour on the way back. Any suggestions for a route avoiding M4 and rush hour traffic in general? I rarely go further than Camberwell so have no idea.
  21. Excellent!! citizen. All was quiet at green and blue
  22. Coming back from Bournemouth in First some years ago fairly packed carriage and the guy just over from me was on his mobile on about a meeting he'd had with the Secretary of State (for what I don't know) but every time he said 'secretary of state' he said it really loudly and he was getting on everyones t*ts. Suddenly my mobile went off (Mrs Oldie) and with unusual (for me) quick wittedness I answered, as loudly as I could, "Ah, Prime Minister". It was quite funny at the time, but you probably had to be there.
