  2. 4. A friend of mine, who also uses the practice and was politely complaining about the appointment system, was called a ?rassclut? by receptionist, definitely not the sort of language or behaviour one would expect from a doctors? receptionist. Shocking but not surprising. In most places if you called a customer that (and what is a patient if not a customer, the money doesn't come directly from us but a practice with no patients would get no funding) you would get disciplined. Manners and professionalism means absolutely nothing to them.
  3. I read both the Guardian and the Indy on-line during my lunchtimes, and I enjoy reading the comments - the immediate feedback is not something that can be replicated on the printed page. At weekends, however I like to take time over the 'real' paper.
  4. To Louisa: How was your education at Rodean?
  5. I feel very sad about the depreciation of service from this practice since CONCORDIA took over having been with them for over 20 years. Dr Grant would be horrified. If it wasn't for the fact that I really rate Dr Johnson I would leave, but he is just so amazing with solving long term back problems that so many other doctors have not been able to help me with. The receptionists are rude and unprofessional - I have had private details shouted out across the surgery, and I am not happy with all the nurses either. The only other factor in their favour is their location - two minutes after my appointment I am at the station................

  7. Sorry - just think the whole 'them' and 'us' thing is pathetic.
  8. mmmm - I was taken to an All Bar One and he thought he was pretty 'cool' to take me there. Also a one-off!
  9. I like Richer sounds - it would be great to get a new stylus round here without having to trek into town.
  10. Don't marry for money, marry where money is. Shame I didn't follow it.
  11. I'd go for a TK Maxx - have to go to Clapham Junction at the moment for my fix.
  12. I'm bored with all these treads on William Rose where I don't go because I don't eat meat, so I want to say a big Thank You to Moxons for selling great fish and having super fishmongers who are always able to fillet for you and offer you advice on cooking, even when the shop is busy. The tuna I had this weekend was fantastic!
  13. Come on BBW - we've already had the multiple identity thread - is this just a cheap way of finding out who appreciates you?
  14. No - there are definitely at least two male members of staff - one who used to work at the Plough and a younger one. I don't go that often so am not an expert!
  15. Yes jaybee - you evil Lothario you - next thing you'll be giving the females of LL the 'eye',
  16. It was there yesterday morning when I went to the gym - really wish those lovely brown boots in the window had been in my size!
  17. Miffy - I met a lot of other women through the gym - people who were at first someone just to smile at and occasionally say Hi became friends. I guess you have to be confident enough to suggest going for a cup of coffee after a class and see if that leads to a more friendly footing. It worked for me.
  18. All clear now - traffic on the move.

  20. OK - sorry for being terribly stupid here (and as I have NO dogs OR children I am not on any side), but, when I was a child there were dogs AND children sharing the same space. I can't see that dogs poo has got any more toxic over the years, or that children play in different ways. I am not dismissing the dangers of dog poo, but do wonder why it seems to be so much more an issue now than it was 10, 20 or more years ago.

'exotic' and 'sells vino' mmmmmmmmmmmm. If it's whom I'm thinking of, he's not exactly Omar Sharif is he?
  22. Oh *Bob* you are SUCH a tease..................
  23. I'm sorry but people should use condoms until they know someone properly. If you are too stupid to use a condom when having sex with someone you are not sure about then I have no sympathy with you if you get an STD (or pregnant). Why should it always be the man who has to take responsibility for this?

  25. Being chatted up and/or flirted with has not given anyone a STD as far as I know. Do women have sex with a man just because he smiles at her in a shop? *sighs - wasn't like that when I was a gel*
