You may be right and yes two of them were free hits but we're not talking test cricket so the ability to make 8 balls count is exactly what is needed. Given the relative failure of Lumb, Wright and Morgan and the fact that the pressure was well and truly on at the time (only 11 overs) I am looking forward to seeing him in the 20/20 finals. (When England won it last time they had a similarly cobbled-together last-minute looking kind of a side so maybe it's a good omen?)

This is a big part of the problem. The fact it took over two decades for the whole truth to come out is disgraceful and I can't help but think that if the victims had been another group other than football fans then it may have come out much more readily. It's a fact that it is easier for police and local leaders and even the government to apologise when all those concerned have moved on or died and it is why those who organised and facilitated the cover up together with those who prevented a faster response from the emergency services need to be identified and, wherever possible, prosecuted.

  6. Just watching the highlights of the last T20 - great knock by Kieswetter but 32 runs of one over for Josh Buttler (okay it included 2 no-balls so 2 free hits but still...) and what was that stroke he played on each of the free hits? Extraordinary.
  7. Otta Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can't see how they could possibly deny a new > investigation now And it should be one that carries the weight of possible prosecutions for those who have lied and smeared.
  8. Could be a double-bluff if "fois" is not a spelling mistake... fois f (plural fois)... definition: time, an instance of something happening; a repetition

  12. For Englands woeful display see my earlier post... except to add that England have finaly found a successor to Owen... Wellbeck's dive was just a 'tad' too blatant and dumb but I'm sure he'll work on it. For Hillsborough: "Strenuous attempts to deflect blame onto fans" and the fact that there were 41 victims who had the "potential" to survive past the coroner's cut-off of 3.15 would seem to make a new inquest an absolute essential.
  13. It's not so much that a change of name is difficult for the airline to facilitate - more that it would become difficult if it became something lots of people did all the time and more than once. Like the FB furore over the huge charge for the printing of a boarding card - budget airlines levy punitive charges to encourage people NOT to do these things and this helps keep costs down.
  14. Huge also introduces the first "Back when UDT was among us..." post, this will now become an accepted tactic in arguing on the EDF, eg: "Huh, that's rubbish! UDT used to say..." or "Quite right, you know how UDT used to go on about it..." Until it becomes a verb ? la Godwin and whole threads come crashing down on the observation that they have been UDTed. *(pron.you-dee-teed)
  15. Ooh I want to go, I think it's next to the Flat Earth Experience, the faith pavilion and the astrology/homeopathy/crystal/psychic-ghost-hunter/life-after-death stand....behind the Bach Rescue Remedy tent (you don't get away either you deluded boody hippies) Mocking... more a pitying shake of the head... then mockery.

  17. Is this whole thread not just another teaser for BBCs stereotypically racist hilarious and groundbreaking sitcom "Citizen Khan"? ETA the 't' at the front of this before anyone asks which he (his) I mean

Day of rest and no noise I suppose. There are many things in France that are 'not the done thing', but to follow the rules and not do the thing that is 'not the done thing' is, for the true Frenchman/woman, most definitely, not the done thing. *Taken from EuronanityNews.org.
  22. Fine yes, but there was a 20 minute period after the first goal when England gave the ball away easily (including long punts upfield by the Hart which I thought were meant to be things of the past). They also looked too scared to close down their opposite numbers giving them the kind of free reign, for a while, that - were they a better team - well, enough said.
  23. My mistake - seeing the title of this thread I thought it was about those musical morons Sly & Reggie who are once again inflicting their over-loud middleclass dub crud along the streets of ED...
  24. If I were you I'd go with one of your own quotes: "I am utterrly speechless." ...and keep both of the Rs, as when I think of you I automatically think "Rs". ETA: If I were ever to contemplate a signature it would definitely be "MAXXI is a @#$%&." in your honour.
  25. Are you sure it was dungarees and not the simpler (and oft confused) bib-and-brace? Corduroy or denim? Faded teal or the classic yellow and black? I think descriptive accuracy is vital in halting such a tsunami.
