  1. But anyone taking 63 bus... Don't. Old kent road is shut
  2. 7.15 is delayed. All others fine at the mo
  3. well he ALWAYS spends a lot of money, wherever he is. And wherever he is is unlikely to be for long, as he tends to be off quite sharpish
  4. Can we back up a second... whatever the rights and wrongs of targets and measuring, most people I know are able to say there were noticeable and significant improvements in the service they received from the NHS in the first decade of the 21st century It just WAS much better after years of investment and (possibly) targets
  5. Agreed it's probably a combination of factors, with your suggestion being one of the big ones And yet it's foreign managers getting the best out of most of the English players at team level
  6. I'd agree with the excitement levels and eras, but wonder if it's more to do with the generation of players than it is provinence of manager
  7. wood trees cost value
  8. "EXCEPT the FAs incompetece and arrogance was in giving Capello an improved and non-results orientated extension to his contract PRIOR to the WC in South Africa, which folloiwing the debacle thereafter has left practically everyone scratching their heads about a) Why? and b) what to do with an overpaind, failed international manager who 'wouldn't' fall on his sword after failure as he had a watertight lucrative contract. " well yes that is of course true as well - although isn't Bernstein picking up the pices from that debacle? So fair play to him (so far anyway, the jury is still out on whatever the next steps are. is 16/1 on Pardew a decent bet?) fazer - chances of me, or anyone, doing you a favour are slim. You slash and burn in the style of Atila (go one, say "who???") but without his genuine softer side
  9. The FA's tactics don't suggest incompotence or arrogance to me - it suggests a canny acknowledgement that the (plenty arrorgant himself) manager had lost the support of much of the team and country, and had made a rod for his own back with Terry on more than one occassion. By "going over his head", they set in place a chain of events which led to yesterday's resignation - something which saved them millions in compensation They are now set fair to install a popular manager in plenty of time for Euro 2012. Capello is one of the richest managers in football regardless. What exactly is to get upset about, or start pointing fingers about the "state of the country" As for innocent-until-proven-guilty - absolutely right and still applies here. terry isn't being banged up because of the accusations - he has been demoted from his captaincy.. Just as he was for the (less serious) allegations around the Wayne Bridge nonsense. Just as Woodgate and Bowyer were dropped when their assaults were unproven and alleged. As a self-professed leader, Terry could have saved his manager and his team a lot of hassle by seeing the circus that would overshadow any footballing considerations, and stepped down to concentrate on clearing his name. The counter argument is that could be seen as admission of guilt but it's possible to state otherwise and fight the case on facts
  10. with Capello falling out of favour fast, Harry's acquittal may not be good news for Spurs fans
  11. first time poster you say? Maybe using that username....
  12. I've been speechless since I read Hugunot's responses on this thread I picked up the Reliant last week and had a flick through. Sure, I wish there was more to read but hopefully as they start to become more visible they will attract more contributers I genuinely enjoyed the Chener books interview, and it's nice to know what Vegan Tom looks like should i end up in conversation with the guy I'm as digitally connected as anyone but when I find myself in a bar/coffee shop wherever I am, be it South London, Sheffield or New York, it's nice to pick up a local freebie newspaper and skim through It's NICE not to be "plugged in" all the time.
  13. What does "not being let in mean" in this case? Is she not getting a reply email to her registration? Chances are she is but her mail filter is labelling it as spam/junk. Check in that folder If its something else say exactly where it's breaking down
  14. But I really LIKE your name sc
  15. "There's no man here who can honestly say he would have run the RBSG group any differently or 'better' than Fred Goodwin " maybe not but we CAN point at other bankers and CEOs who ran their banks rather better than Fred did It?s true there is a bit of an Owellian 2 minute hate thing going on at the moment, and it?s all a bit facile and simplistic to lay it at the door of one man. But there were warnings about him before it all kicked off ? the FSA included http://www.scotsman.com/the-scotsman/politics/rbs_fsa_report_bank_was_warned_about_fred_goodwin_8_years_ago_1_2005302 so to pretend he is no different and doesn?t deserve any criticism, at a time when (insert your own strawman argument here, the point being Fred will be OK but many less well off people are being vilified) I?m sure he will manage juuuust fine, so let?s not shed too many tears either
  16. I was in Exeter the other weekend - ever since I've lived there (20 years ago) it's been pedestrianised. And has attracted the likes of an apple store - despite no cars being anywhere near it. The buses are teeny as well. People manage Now let's look at Walworth Road - not much more than a few hundred yards from Peckham - and open to as many cars as you like? Is that the galvanising effect that car access has? Well I never...
  17. Liverpool are losing so much neutral support over this and your posts go some way to explaining why Wtf is that last one from you meant to mean ?
  18. Abusing other players is seen as part and parcel But abusing black players about the colour of their skin isn't What the fook is so hard to understand about that Their is a weight of history against black people that just... Doesn't... Exist.. For other people in the same way. Maybe Jewish people. Calling someone south American just has no impact. There aren't discussions in pubs of south london about the farking south Americans. And there aren't south Americans getting abused daily Your Liverpool bias is embarrassing Matthew. That club and that manager have ha a car crash over this episode.
  19. Lfc have toned down the rhetoric in recent weeks and should receive recognition of that.. But the initial response, and those tshirts was painful and cringeworthy.
  20. But maybe Evra is different to Ferdinand. maybe booing Evra is a more matey version of sending someone a bullet in the post look it - Evra and Ferdinand were at the end of some verbals or worse. |Whatver the rights and wrongs of what happens to Terry and Suarez, what the heck has that got to do with Evra and Ferdinand? Why are they being singled out for these incidents?
  21. If you are AGAINST racism, why, and in what world, would booing Evra today be "okay" Evra is no saint and I dislike the man as much as any Arsenal fan, but to pretend that the extended and unusual booing today was for anything other than the fact the he complained he was racially abused, was found by a tribunal to be correct is in any way "normal".. well.. I;d like to know if it wasn't racism, what was it?
  22. It won't be a browser issues as iTunes updates itself these days. Not sure what the download error quids mentions refers to but knowing if he can connect to iTunes on his phone would clear up the account possibility
  23. This is what mark twain did when he was burgled in 1908 Heh Meanwhile buddug would do well to note that really, REALLY disliking her in no way reflects anyone's opinion of or allegiance to James barber, much as it might comfort her to think he has a band of followers he can call on Her website could do with an update and all
  24. 20 staff? Possible exaggeration for effect on my part there But I have bumped into staff from some of the LL lane restaurants in the past (in the video shop) and when I asked how come they all came to the shop together they said it was because they all lived above the restaurant and had nothing else to do So I was only being semi-serious ? but look it, many of the restaurants have an inordinate number of staff serving a very small space, and for food that doesn?t cost very much. Something must account for that As for same ingredients? Not sure most curry houses are that fussed about where the chicken comes from and Ganapti does appear to promote the more expensive free-range variety. That might be something customers care or don?t about but it is a genuine differentiator I?m not denying it?s expensive, and possibly over-priced tho? ? just expanding on some reasons why that might be
  25. Ok ? so when did it last access the store? Did an update to itunes coincide with the problem Can you access the store on your iphone (proving the account itself is ok?) Questions not answers, I know, but it should get us there
