  4. And this morning....
  5. So far..... Friday Morning Friday Afternoon Leaderboard
  6. You can find the rules under the heading 'info', RD. You may need to change your initial selections this morning to reflect who is actually playing in the first session today. Then further changes are possible prior to the second session, if you want.
  7. Ryder Cup Superbru. I created a pool for this and will send invites to you, in the event you might be interested. It's not a solely EDF pool as I created it to play with a couple of brothers of mine. But as one wants to invite some of his golfing friends, I'll extend it too. Anyone not previously involved in a EDF Superbru prediction game, let me know here and I'll post how to join the pool, if you'd like to play. Not a lot involved. Points for choosing who is going to win matches type of thing. BTW the Pool name this time is 'The Flog Game'.
  8. I recently changed from Shell to Igloo and they were mentioned in dispatches yesterday. Something about restructuring consultants, whatever that means. I looked at their last filed accounts in 2020 and they made a loss of ?6M I think. I decided to check the accounts of another one which is getting a lot of airtime recently, Octopus. In the same period it made a loss of ?55M. What to make of that, I do not know.
  9. My OH lost one on a walk the other day. Most likely to be in Dulwich Park. Apparently it's about an inch long, shaped like a pencil and yellow. Slim hope I know, but no harm asking.
  10. I think I know who that may be, as I've been to one such place. I'll try and find the details and will send you a message.
  11. In case anyone is interested and doesn't have Amazon Prime, Ch4 will be showing the US Open tennis final live tonight. There may be some local interest involved.

Maybe that's why it was easier to get in? I was only ever at the Oval once. The Saturday of the 1985 Ashes series. I got in because my nephew was one of the rugby playing kids from his school, employed to tackle anyone from the crowd who went on to the pitch. It rained most of the day and I got pi**ed.
  14. From the little I know about this, the main complaint about a rise in NI is that young people will be paying for old people. Yet those old people were once young people, and the current young people will hopefully become old people. So what's wrong with that?
  15. The cocktail........a UK invention "The evolution of the cocktail Nobody is exactly sure when the first ?true? cocktail was created, but by the 1860s the drinks using this name usually included some form of liqueur. Bartenders were introduced to the concept officially in 1862, with the publication of How to Mix Drinks by ?Professor? Jerry Thomas, which included ten recipes for ?cocktails?, differentiated from the other drinks in the manual by the introduction of bitters. This charismatic American author and bartender helped to solidify the cocktail?s reputation as an overwhelmingly US-based invention, with a sophistication unmatched by early UK variants. However, the principles behind the cocktail originate far earlier, with some considering London punch-house proprietor James Ashley, who mastered his craft between 1731-1776, as the first to pioneer the mixology which led to the creation of the first ever cocktail."
  16. I'm pretty sure the answer to that is yes. I think there's a sign at the Lordship Lane end of it.

  19. We are where we are. I interpret that to mean that "we f**ked up, but lets ignore it".

  21. I've often wondered why so many people say 'we was' in England. Is it the lack of a good education?

  23. Anyone know of a Euro account where one can deposit cash* into? Preferably without fees. Thanks in advance. *Not a huge amount but would prefer to keep it in a bank
