There was I waiting at the door with me Euros and then I read this 😠
  2. Magic and fairies? Don't you believe in Santa then Jeremy? There was a two part programme on BBC recently. A travel show where this English guy toured around Ireland. One of the characters he met was a long bearded fella who managed to have the proposed route on a new road changed so a fairy tree wouldn't be uprooted. I think what shocked the presenter during his travels was how schools in Northern Ireland are almost entirely segregated. What surprised me the most was that there were Protestants there who attended Irish language classes. It was a nice mini series and probably still on BBCi.
  3. Christmas with/for kids is magical. Once you/they grow up its not the same. Stating the obvious I suppose. This will be the first year our kid won't be here. A new chapter.

  6. I ventured into the For Sale section yesterday on a rare visit. Lo and behold my item is now on page 5 in just over 24 hours. The place is full of people with names I've never heard of who don't appear in the Lounge. What's more, how do you sell anything there if your post sinks without a trace in minutes? Start a thread in the Lounge?
  7. I'd have bet on Liverpool winning today. It's just a crazy season. If the EPL isn't careful top 4 will soon become 3 if English clubs don't hack it in Europe.
  8. I watched the MOTD highlights today. There could have been quite a few goals though WH could have scored first. LVG is getting a lot of stick. He not endearing as such but he is rebuilding. Our defence shows that and Mike Smalling in particular seems to have benefitted. I like that LVG gives young players a chance. Perhaps all he needs is a goalscorer and Rooney to remain injured.
  9. New York Times publish front page editorial for first time since 1920's, on the subject of gun control. http://www.nytimes.com/2015/12/05/opinion/end-the-gun-epidemic-in-america.html?_r=0
  10. The Man in the High Castle is currently a series on Amazon which I don't have but I'm told it's good. It's based on this book: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Man_in_the_High_Castle The author also wrote the already mentioned Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep which Bladerunner was based on.

This and The Black and White Minstrel Show were favourites of my mum years ago.
  12. This is Narnia. Always Winter, never Christmas.
  13. What a Waster I know nothing about this song........but Otta, it's for you PS It's not even a song.......just the lyrics
  14. Gary Neville to coach Valencia until the end of the season. Their owner has links with Salford City. Will miss his punditry.

  16. What about a Christmas towel set? She's bound to shower.
  17. Seems like a cheap dig at Americans.Everything that's tasteless is their fault? at least people kept quiet between points which is the main thing. Not sure you get that when Argentina play at home in DC.
  18. Great win and fun.

  20. From what I heard Vlad has the option of a re-match.
  21. I hope Spurs long mid-week journey doesn't affect them too much.
  22. Am I right in thinking WH had more points at this stage last season? Not that it's all about points of course. As for United being boring,I do think they looked a lot better when Luke Shaw was playing.
  23. C'mon on you boys in blue. Good atmosphere at the tennis. Shame Henman & Fleming didn't travel for security reasons to do their usual BBC stint.
  24. Come on Scotland.....GB. Long time since you won it.
