  1. Oh yes please.
  2. Saturday's Dish of the Day in the EDT? Lasagne. Might wander along for the last bit of the Israel Russia game.
  3. We've been spammed! Hurrah - almost worth keeping on for the amusement value!
  4. I second that Lidl do great european deli stuff - some great stuffed chilli peppers and other anti-pasta and I recently had their Gluwein - which went down a treat at a Bonfire party. Bit of an unknown gem for unusual stuff amongst the chattering classes.
  5. CWALD - when you say you have "gone all mushy" - what precisely do you mean? He aksed, hesitantly
  6. The Emigrant Formally Known as BarryRoad Snappy
  7. Bombing accuracy was bad in those - hence the need for mass bombing to hit one target. There would have been a big focus on the docks and major railway junctions and Dulwich would have suffered collateral damage in the modern parlence.
  8. I would recommend hopping up to the top of the Lane and then hopping back - using different legs you can double the exercise and use only one shoe - thus reducing your carbon footprint. Once we have all done this for about 6 months we will have saved so much carbon that we can ecologically afford to make a big bonfire of all the ED cars on Goose Green. All cars except mine of course, I need that to get to Sainsbos to buy my startlingly red meat, the vegetables required for Sunday lunch trips to the Plough and to drive up and down Zenoria Road trying to find a parking space so that I can visit the ED Warehouse without becoming chilled.
  9. I'm with Ratty.
  10. G&B - great place, nice decor, good staff and it attracts a fine set of punters. Including us last night, sorry Anna, the invitation to G&B was a flexible thing and wasnt ment to exclude. I suspect that there will be many more G&Bcentric evenings. It being a great place that does a nice mushroom tart. You can be chatty and stay on topic.
  11. I can understand the "not a Supermarket" stance, but they are a business and the fact that their customer base will temporraily expand at Christmas should not be a surprise. It is a potential opportunity that could attract new customers and turn them into log term customers. They seem to see this short term surge as a problem. If they run out of Turkeys they could always nip down to Sainbos for more supplies, they would still make a hefty profit. :))
  12. The G&B being top "proper" wine bar. Hurrah.
  13. Darlington.
  14. Lord Who? CWALD - leaping the class barrier to try greener grass? :))
  15. I dont think that an early finish is likely!
  16. It was the promise to "Come back for him later" and the gentle pat on his crown jewels which un-nerved him!
  17. *Wiggles round in a pumpkiny way to watch telly. Its the Rememberance Service on Whitehall. Who's that, at the back, my, its Dulwichmum, doing us proud. Wait, "DM - you missed a leaf, over there, in the bit of gutter that you forgot to sweep"* *Cant get the staff nowadays. Still, glad hallowen is behind us*
  18. Good news PeckhamRose - we were concerned at your reversal in fortune and I am sure that there will be an EDF posse at your Play. Tonight, after a diverting wind-band concert in the Great Hall of Dulwich College, I went back to the FHT for a beer and to say thanks. All was well, although the bar manager did confess to have been frightened by CWALD!! Made me laugh. Then went next door to the Omrith for a curry, which was very nice indeed.
  19. *Turns into Pumpkin* *Oh Arse!*
  20. I'm embracing, I'm embracing
  21. *Noooooooooooooooooooo shan't, you will make me eat from the red and shiny side of the muffin' and that will be my undoin' andtheresnomistakin'.* *Peeks round sofa to see Dulwichmum inexplicably italicised* *Bounds from behind sofa, equally inexplicably dressed as a Victorian Cockney boy-chimney sweep. Rods and brushes beneath arms, face covered in soot, clutching own lapels, does cheery high stepping prancey-dance to the tea-pot. Helps self to a cup of Rosey- Lee and a slice of Plum Duff* *So, DM what did you think of the Queens Speech? Hmm?* *I am sure I saw you on the TV in the background at the House of Lords - dusting*
  22. ... and CWALD was there too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-$ Wearing her patch and as a result, utterly in control of her womanly urges ::o
  23. The suggestion is that we have the Christmas EDF party on Friday 14 December at The Plough. Its a big pub and we do seem to be able to attract a good number of people (20 last night at the Forest Hill Tavern) and more will probably come to a Christmas Party. I believe that there is a person from the Plough on the forum - could you host us? If so - what can we do in the way of music and food? Last night, somebody was volunteered as a DJ by their wife, sorry cant remember the name - it was late. Dress code would be "Dress to Impress" - precisely how you impress is entirely up to you. I think that any date at that time will be pronlematic for some as they will already have prior engagements - but we have to plump for something and the 14th seemed as good as any and better than some. What do you think folks?
  24. Poor Sean is clearly still in bed and cannot defend himself ;-)
