  1. So, next meeting will be at the Mirash. Drinks at the EDT beforehand and probably afterwards. Please note that we are meeting on the first Wednesday of July, just 'cos.
  2. I did feel a little rough this morning. As Charliebubs said, a great evening. It was particularly pleasing that most of those present have joined CC relatively recently. Drinks at the Draft House followed by a splendid meal at Jaflong. My Naga Chicken was as ever tasty and spicy. Magical japes from Dulwich Fox and L15ecr and a round of free drinks to finish. More drinks at The Bishop As well as the magic tricks we had another mystery to solve. When is the Dulwich News Indian restaurant of the year to be announced? Jaflong had the Dulwich News photographer and journo round for the pictures to used in the piece announcing their victory. Last weeks issue they were told. BUT .... NO!! There was simply a statement that the competition was still being judged. COINCENTALLY this above the half page paid for advert from Dulwich Tandoori .... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! :)
  3. We will miss you Georgia!! If you cant come that is, if you can we will welcome you with open arms ...
  4. Your washing machine may be wired straight into the wall, rather than simply plugged in. The likes of Currys wont install if it is wired into the wall. Before I replaced mine I replaced the powerpoint with a standard 3 pin socket.
  5. All forms of Gorm are welcome. Look for me, short, fat, ginger bloke. If you are the James that has recently joined the FB group, I shall look out for you, the surf board wearing a beanie hat?
  6. Any other takers? Will book the table later today.
  7. Advanced notice of July Curry Club date - this will be on the first Wednesday of the Month - 3 July. Look forward to seeing you this Thursday..
  8. Next Thursday folks!! Meet at the Draft House at 7.15 for the usual noggins, eat at 8ish. http://www.jaflong.uk.com/ http://www.drafthouse.co.uk/
  9. Could have been - size seems more like it. Ta.
  10. Sitting in my living room yesterday, late PM, I saw a smallish bird swoop in and settle on a roof opposite. Slightly smaller than your average pigeon, http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/k/kestrel/index.aspx The bird sat for about a minute, head quickly darting from side to side. It flew away, dipping down below the roof line and then up and over the house and gone. Very graceful. Anybody else?
  11. "Saturated by aircraft noise"?? No, we are not. We are on flight routes into Heathrow and out of City airport. We have some noise but lets not exaggerate. As it is the sight of an Emirates or Quantas Airbus A380 almost silently cruising over us is quite spooky. Older aircraft are noisier, but as more super quiet aircraft come into service, the impact of noise will decrease.
  12. I am there on Saturday, am praying to the weather Gods ...
  13. Ooopsie Mick Mac! BUT, July might be the 2nd Thursday of the month as I am not around on the 1st Thursday :s
  14. About time her skills and art were recognised. Good for BAFTA.
  15. Just as Peckham may be on the up, with the Overground link and refurbished station planned, Bellenden coming into its own. Seems an odd time to bail out. Short sighted or a sign that WH Smiths is suffering.
  16. At the request of Curry Club's resident Magician, Dulwich Fox, our next meeting will be at Jaflong on Thursday 6 June, aka D-Day. Meet at the Draft House at 7.15 for the usual noggins, eat at 8ish. http://www.jaflong.uk.com/ http://www.drafthouse.co.uk/
  17. Excellent turn out, 12 people gathered at The Rose for a few sharpeners before trotting round the corner to Omrith. Omrith delivered well. I had a very nice chicken dhansak and a bottle or two of the excellent Bangla beer, some of it ended up marinating my gentleman's area. Musicians ..... Omrith's d?cor is pleasing to the eye and we had some actual, proper Indian music as a back ground to the feast. I can't be doing with the current trend of playing modern western pop music is curry houses. If I wanted to listen to the likes of Hank Marvin and Lonnie Donegan I wold do so at home. Well done Omrith. A free drinkie at the end of the evening rounded things off nicely. The bill came to ?20 a head including tip, so good value. Next CC meet at Jaflong on 6 June 2013.
  18. Tony Blair, ideal candidate for that Middle East peace job
  19. Thanks Seemster. Just spoken to Swadesh. They are now completely alcohol free. You cannot take your own drink with you. Don't think we will be going there until they change that policy.
  20. I picked up a large tub of chocolate and salted caramel (50/50), it was rather lovely.
  21. Marvellous one and all. Table booked. See you Thursday. XX
