  1. You will be most welcome Charlie. Good grief its next week everybody!!
  2. We English are not arrogant. We are just better bred. Thats all.
  3. Lidl cold meats are the best, ditto their chocolate. Their versions of big brand chocolate bars are really very good.
  4. National loyalties aside, who do we support in neutral games? I always kinds of want the Italians to win, followed by the Paddies, Jocks, Taffs and Frogs in that order. Of course being English I accept that the none of the fringe nations try very hard when playing anybody other than England :)
  5. Any bacon in any bread with browns sauce and tea. Coffee? No, with croissant, yes Bucks Fizz? No, with smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, yes A bacon sandwich needs no adornment.
  6. I used to go to Dulwich Hospital but dont anymore. Way to long to wait and my arm looked like that of a heroin addict by the time the nurse had finished shoving the needle into my arm multiple times in a random search for a vein. This happened on a number of occasions, so now I book in to see one of the nurses at the Gardens surgery.
  7. Ditto positive comments re The Gardens.
  8. I agree with Otta. This is blatant NIMBYism - measures that address the issue of drug miss-use are needed, as long as they do not happen in our streets. The portacabin idea is not good, it will look tatty. If DMC are genuinely committed to this, a brick built building would look more professional would be more secure, I suspect. James Barber, please do not use the Forum to promote your consistent rabble rousing NIMBY sentiment.
  9. Shouldnt our local Councillors find a balance between protecting the interests of local residents and the social good?
  10. Watching the BBC weather forecast. More feckin' snow tonight. Get your Sainsbos snow shovels out
  11. I put all of mine onto Itunes and sold the CDs to Music Magpie. They collect from Barrys Supermarket. Very efficient.
  12. So, those responsible for the roads have learned the lessons of the past few years. Were well prepared and have done an excellent job of keeping traffic moving in harsh conditions. For those responsible for the rails, its Groundhog Day.
  13. Eeeee, those were the days.
  14. Nice one Salsaboy. Pun-age of high merit.
  15. Frog would be more expensive. Rat would be more likely.
  16. Back to the level of the puerile and my personal favourite from the hundreds seen on FB and Twitter: Vegetarians should be aware that some veggie- burgers have been found to contain ..... Uniquorn. I thanks you.
  17. e-dealer - bad form and not funny. Glad so many lovely people are coming along. In honour of our 5th birthday I may promote myself to be "Serene Bindhi of the Tangerine Kulfi (3rd class, twice removed)" What do you think? Too much? Too soon?
  18. Good Lord, this thread and so the Curry Club just passed its 5th birthday!!
  19. Great curry at Jaflong yesterday. Thanks to all that came along. New approach to CC meeting dates: First Thursday of the month. We had a good discussion about this and Thursday seemed to be a day that people could do and most people have been paid by the first Thursday. So, the next meeting will be on 7 February @ The Surma. http://www.the-surma.co.uk/ Meet at the EDT at 7.15ish.

Thus are recession woes avoided. Bit of an arse of you are a soapie-product worker or a Barista though. Even worse if you are a Barista and your partner is a pope-on-a-rope manufacturer. Your children will starve, you will lose your house and end up as a crack-whore, turning cheap tricks to numb the pain. Is all this scrimping really worth the cost?
  21. "The term 'Union Jack' possibly dates from Queen Anne's time (r. 1702-14), but its origin is uncertain. It may come from the 'jack-et' of the English or Scottish soldiers, or from the name of James I who originated the first union in 1603. Another alternative is that the name may be derived from a proclamation by Charles II that the Union Flag should be flown only by ships of the Royal Navy as a jack, a small flag at the bowsprit; the term 'jack' once meant small" From the Official Website of the British Monarchy. So, could be either, nobody knows.
  22. Thanks you SJ, I was too excited. Thank you Mick Mac - your commitment to the curry cause is appreciated. Tomoz everybody!!
  23. The Union Jack is only the Union Jack when it is on a ship. Otherwise its a flag.
