  1. The sound of wheeled suitcases makes me think about bed/ get tired/ yawn Oddly, my street is quiet - very quiet for SE London all things considered - few cars. At bedtime, I doze off listening to the rattling of people coming down the street after getting a late train home - the sound of wheeled suitcases echoing off the other houses - its sort of reassuring/ confirmation of bedtime and hopefully a nights sleep untroubled by dreams of Zombies taking over The EDD and no-one noticing or realising, 'cept me . recurring one innit

Korea where the state will make every decision > on your behalf. Let them be off to Pyongyang, no > one is stopping them. You were doing so well until you came out with the North korea line. I could counter it to request that all those who favour pure capitalism pootle off to Somalia , where you can see how a real life pretty much unregulated market works but that would be beneath me so I wont.
  3. do you seriously beleive that the market will produce the best educationla results overall ? Like Communisn - Capitalism has never existed in its purest/ libertarian favoured form - what we have out there is hardly a shining example of the genre there are plenty of pension pot holders who have been had their futures curtailed by adoption of market rules and duoped into believing this is the way forward. If you want to spend your cash on skool, then get on with it, but this isnt society a la carte - there is a social responsibility attached to living here.
  4. Straw man Your taxes & rates are not a personal savings account to dip into at a later date, hence you analogy is flawed. I have never called out the fire brigade - should I take this off my contribution to the Local authority ? Now be off with you
  5. Unfortunatley, she likes politicians - whcih sort of undermines anything else she has going for her

Is that something you might > consider organising or helping out with? By maintaining their tax dodging charitable status ( by the skin of their teeth ) they are effectively using state funds by proxy. If the school had morals & an ethos of contribution to society, they would "independent" as opposed to charidee-lite Its good to know that in a roundabout way, we help fund and support this bastion of privelige. The chattering clases express outrage at offshore tax scams used in the City, yet are quite happy to send their kids to an instuitution that takes advantage of loopholes to evade paying their way
  7. I "know" people in the security services - a bit of pocket anarchism is accepted in the recruitment process interview , along with admission of past drug use and backpacking in your year off. A chance to boast of your activism, show your mates your ( expensive, vain & uselss )mobile phone pics, along with you getting down with indigenous locals in Cambodia, whilst you wait with bated breath for the results of your final PWC interview bah2
  8. The UK has no history in revolution in its recent past - yes, I know you can refer to various uprisings several hundred years ago, but when it comes down to it, we are soppy moaners - Thatcher was right when she referred to moaning minnies a stiff upper lip & resignation to our collective fate We still believe & support in the same system, the system that that gives the same output from the same universities and the same wasted jism from the infected testicles of the legal system a nice little mutual back slapping niche career We cant even discussing getting rid of the Queen & her lot without handwringing & looking for an way out ( " its good for tourism" blah blah blah ) When I was engrossed in Postgrad political semantics, a Prof once asked why we were thre only country in Europe that didnt experience any kind of popular revolt- for good or for worse - in the past couple of hundred years. Quite an interesting / depressing topic when you look into it State Smashing and agitprop aside, we are a sorry excuse of a nation. bah

Something that you will luckily not have to worry about it would seem.

The UK does not have much else to rely > upon if the City is no longer a world leader. The Banking crisis is another symptom of the mailiase & the City is an easy - if weatlhy - target. Why not target Richer sounds or any of the uesless/expensive shops in ED ? they are all part of the problem. Greed is the infection and we are all carriers, even if unknowingly & unwittingly
  12. its up there with Ab Fab & little Britain as something I just cannot get and cannot fathom.
  13. Good to see youve got this in before the midday cut off
  14. blah blah blah the cameras are already up at various locations & there are more Media that Filth on the streets Do these parasites report the news or make the news ? every little scuffle or stumble will be flashed across the world and repeated for the next 24 hours meaning for thoses who dont actually like here: London=Battleground / stock up on tinned food & water The victims hhowe have obeyed their corporate gang masters and followed instruction - dress down/ dont carry an FT / bring sandwiches / arrive early / depart late/ have lunch at desk etc are sadly cowed into fear by the whole system. Its pitiful and shows how little some understand about the whole ethos of the day I hear of City boys - first hand BTW - who are talking about having a ruck if"swampy" tries to get into their offices- erm? shed blood for your employer ? what type of mugs are you ? Snorky says - pull a sickie, put on a Hawaiian shirt, go up to the city and have a party
  15. I try not to let reality affect my rants
  16. Some of the Swiss Cantons seem to vote for every little piece of legislation and people do get involved, so maybe it is possible Then again, the Swiss are stolen Nazi gold hoarding tax dodgers and drug cartel cash launderers, so maybe not
  17. Its hardly new for a politician to forsake her relationhsip to further/ add creedence to her/ his career - see that mercenrary shithole Tessa Jowell as an example Local resident & career politician Harman proposed hiding expenses from public view a couple of months ago. Nice to see you principles coming to the fore Harman The money is an irrelvance & a few drops in an ocean in reality - the papers grasp on anything to provoke ire and get a reaction from their reactionary readership This has got nothing to do with Tug movies It has eveything to do with a system that attracts the worst, most egotistical & ambitious members of society - we shouldnt be surprised when they fill their boots You support these parties ( whatever colout they may be ), you keep these kind of people in power and maintain the Status Quo. I would call for popular revolution & politicians to be strung up on ED lamposts for the Parakeets to gnaw at, but Ive had my fingers slapped once already in the past week, so wont.

  19. I woek in an culture that lives on expenses, entertainment & freebies I refuse to get involved in the whole vile package - probabaly to my detriment and it does fuck up any "networking" opportunities, but its better to keep your principles than whore yourself for a few quid or a free meal Whats the difference between an MP pushing the boundaries of her expenses & you taking your partner out for a meal & passing it off as client entertainment ? Answer: nothing. this isnt A La carte & you cant critisise the MPS for adopting the same principles as the rest of us.
  20. The shops are are there to take your money, they should have thicker skins. bleat away peopl

Sadly Tony, I cannot feel proud to have such a blunt instrument of control and the class system on my dooorstep. Call me old fashioned, but I think local amenties should directly benfit the people whjo live there.
  22. Mr ben, how come you are not in Amstredam ? Im leaving for there tonight
