how about the pavement. outside the bishop.squaking, cackling & squelaing " OH MY GOD", until the early hours. with your one dimensional estate agency chums, then off home, leaving your shit all over the pavement until the next saturday when you can perform your midnight kerazy traffic dodging runs to the 24 hour corner shop to buy more cigarettes. ad nauseum

Starbucks seem to have royalty free parping jazz lite on an endless 8 track loop. that, uniforms & overfussy bad coffee. A Jazz bar is as about attractive as a homage to U2 bar for me. sorry

To be honest Keef, the ALF are pretty much shunned by everyone else for obvious reasons - and the activists are off their heads, but find the ALF a nice banner to cling to. there a very very few of these people, but they do have the effect of tarring everyone left of Laboor with the same brush -m the thing is, probabaly 1 in 5 of the hard core ALF are undercover coppers anyway - the only Non Islamic indigenous group to have such a high profile amongst the SB & Home service for comparison - The Duke of Beaufort was dug up 20 years ago and thatn propelled a random bunch of lefty-ish sabs into the Modern equivalent of the SS death squads for readers of the tabloids.( it wasnt me I must reassure you, I had an alibai that night. a concrete one. with 4 witnesses. )

The cynic would say create a climate of fear and create its victims and you have control over the populace This is only the latest in a long line of supposed fears- Dirty Bombs, Liquid bombs on planes, 25 minute NBC warning, blah blah blah - non of which have any basis in reality - you are less likely to be assailed by a lumpen mass of crusties and lefties than you are by drunken wankers on LL at midnight think about the issues & not the hype surrounding it
-
I wouldnt worry about it if you are a pinstripe wage slave & the range of groups are not violent towards people, just sometimes property - a apart from a handful of wankers who talk up violent revolution, but have probabaly never hit anyone in their lives , there may be a bit of a party - there is very little as exciting as being caught up in a riot The city is not run by top hatted effete public schoolboys, but By streetwise Essex men & women, mixed with rugby playing toffs & thick necked guttaral colonials - not a group you really want to take on go along and enjoy it, whatever side you are on - just take precations that you are not caught on the filth cameras if possible the City institutions advising workers to arrive early/stay late is laughable exploitation, but some mugs will obey if you are that concerned, stay at home and watch the fun on telly

Dennis severs house is great what brought me here ? a " partner" who decided that another decade of academia and lie ins was a poor second to wage slavery - and being young and stupid, I went along with it

The moral dilemma of AtomKraft has once again been in my thoughts- and I am probably more in favor than not in favor at the minute, given strict rules and as an explicit interim solution until cold fusion or whatever Not something I would have considered a decade or two ago

What will this achieve ? Nothing, except make you feel better for no effort at all- I hjate to be the bringer of doom n gloom, but this onwt change anything. YOu may as well Jet Bono in from his tax haven bolt hole cave complex to lecture your candlelit dinner party on how wasteful we are, for all ther good it will do Until there are basic changes made to the system that has got us into this wasteful destructive mess, nothing is going to change. make the most of it now people - before too long ED will be a deserified dessciated wasteland , populated only by feral gangs of rapacious leather clad bikers, fighting for the last few drop of precious hydrocarbons...most likely

I know, ports in storms etc Im in a union, in an industrry that probabaly has less union members that McDs part of the probelm is that we have accepted what we we see around us as the only option - acceptence of the mediocre and the vanilla - the union may be the ultimate option for most, but its not much of an option at all um

A job at ?5.50 an hour is a job at ? 5.50 an hour - its all slavery - so whether you sell vulgar shoes, envelopes or flip processed burgers for a living, its to the same end, same exploitation, same tragic waste of a life

haha The "anti Capitalists" are a well weaning but naive lot - if it is possible to categorise such a disparete group of nutters, splitters & cod-seditionists under one umbrella? As to the vandalism, ( I have to extra careful today Admin ), I fail to see the difference between a local biz and a corporate - neither of them would be there if there was not profit for them, so singling out McD is a bit knee jerk ( dare I say it ) Guardian reader Naomi Kelin uninspired second hand drivel- at what point does a business move from local/ comfy to global/ scarey ? if Hope and Greenwood opened up in Seattle, would they then move into the latter category ? How many angels can dance on the head of a pin ? thin thinking from many involved Quote Frankly, the french can fuck off with their demonstations - their own brand of nationalistic protecionism has ben interpreted as some kind of stand against international capital ( i.e. 'Merica ) but its fuck everyone else protectionism - the French Unions are a disgrace for going along with this How this affects ED I dunno, but I will be in the city on the 1st

A sombering thought caveat * No innocents were hurt -
