  1. in the upper reaches of Bellenden Road you have to step into the road to avoid your eyes being gauged out by protruding hedges

  3. Robert has tuned my piano yearly for about six years, he phones every year when tuning is due. Nothing this year and his number is unobtainable. Does anyone know what's happened to him?
  4. dogs also enjoying gnawing at bark to clean their teeth which could be how fungi would be ingested.

  7. the wildlife garden centre off Ondine Road sells dog roses which could be trained to climb over walls as a prickly deterrent! Also blackberries!

  13. yes do that and I wll try and take better pics...after cleaning what seem to be ten years of spilt tea off them.
  14. ours has one door and then the entire wooden panel can be removed in two sections, the smallest being triangular in shape and closest to bottom of stairs to access different bits. they are on hinges and you just pull them out. this was done in the 1930's! tried to attach? photo but too big!!
  15. Most of the park is off lead although there are on lead sections around the pond and some paths and a dog free picnic area.
  16. 10.30am be outside the post office to show your resistance! its a great post office. I go there to avoid Lordship Lane queues. Imagine what those queues are going to be like when it closes!

  19. I've never been hemmed in. Just leave yourself enough space in front to get out even if someone parks tightly behind you. If everyone did this we would liberate more spaces. But last night i had to park a street away. Also people don't anticipate how the parking pattern will change in the next hours. You park loosely in ehat looks like a one car space but when another person leaves a whole new space is created. I often readjust my parking if i see i have hogged too much space.
  20. our street would have plenty of places if people parked in a car sized space and not one and half.

I've just driven home to find yet again not a single parkable space in my really long road despite there being about twenty gaps, but cars have slapped themselves across what could have been a double space, making them untenable. Can we decide to snuggle up a bit more to the car in front, and don't leave huge gaps?
