  1. Angling - fishing as a sport means no one taking any fish home but returning them alive to the water after weighing and photographing. Anglers often know the individual wiley old carp, having caught and returned them to the water before. Taking them home and eating them is something else altogether. There should be a big sign explaining this to new anglers. its a sport not a shopping expedition. lavender27 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Siduhe Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > Lavender27, the owner of the fishery reportedly > > claims that Eastern European fisherman don't > > ?catch and release? as they are supposed to but > > take their catches home with them so the lakes > > keep running out of fish. 3. Hi all, the head has got back to me and the sports lights were not turned off after an event last night. They Are hugely apologetic and will make sure staff know to turn them off after use. Thanks for your support and a good outcome, I think.
  4. Rung them and they were v apologetic and looking into it
  5. That sounds sensible suggestion.
  6. Wide awake - 3.30am St John and St Clements school playground security light is shining like some Colditz gun tower light straight into my bedroom, penetrating my curtains. Every so often they have it this bright. Maybe it's generally turned off. I will ring them in the morning but right now I feel it's light pollution, totally selfish and really annoying. Looking out the window it's lighting up the whole area around it. Is this even legal? Anyone else?
  7. Hi Sally, food banks are used by desperate families - it doesn't mean they can't manage money, just that they haven't got it!
  8. It just means no one nominated it.
  9. I've just voted formPeckham Rye but Dulwich is also a contender http://www.fieldsintrust.org/bestpark/london?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=card&utm_campaign=ukbp2017&utm_term=regional&utm_content=171028_istock

  11. Nutbrook Street has had a man with a ladder today offering to inspect and clean gutters for six quid. He was up my elderly neighbours roof and when he saw me chatting with him he asked me slightly aggressively 'is there a problem?'and when I asked what was his company as I might want my gutters inspecting (I didn't) he repeated 'is there a problem?' which I thought a bit strange if you wanted to get more work and get on with people. My neighbour said he wasn't interested, after the guy had pointed out that the flashing needed replacing and he left. He drove a silver kind of large pick up but one with a roof. he left a card.

  16. Perhaps approach the parents. I would hate to be a parent unaware of how loud our oVergrown son's tantrums or music was. I would also feel validated if I told him he was annoying the neighbours and neighbours agreed.

  23. hmm just put in search 'rye lane cycle' and didn't get any specific reference to this designated yet unmarked strip of pavement.
  24. I wondered but couldn't be arsed to trail through the threads. Well now its come to my attention I can go all Boadicea on its arse.
  25. despite living here years, ive never noticed that the bit of pavement that looks exactly like the rest of the pavement in Rye Lane is a cycle lane, not till today when cyclist and me nearly collided, side stepped each other and just missed toppling each other. I was upset and the young woman was very upset but it was nobodys fault. But looking at it, I see no indication it is a cycle lane except some tiny cycle motifs which weren't even present on that stretch of cycle pavement, down to the left coming out of Morrisons archway. I think the cycle lane should be painted pink or something. People must be bashing into each other all the time. I am also partially deaf so immune to bells.
