while walking the doggies today I saw a sign on the children's adventure playground which said it was closed until january 4. it added: "we wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year". well done southwark, locking up a kids fun place for the christmas school holiday.

Fortnightly blue bin collection not enough?
puzzled replied to Mrs TP's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
we absolutely do need a weekly blue bin collection. also, they have failed to empty our brown bin for 3 weeks. we have very little food type waste as we compost, but they really should not ignore us like this. if james barber is reading this, he could bollock them for us. -
E.D.Station controlled parking zone
puzzled replied to joobjoob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
mr barber is a councillor and not a counsellor. you really would have to be disturbed if you went to him counselling -
E.D.Station controlled parking zone

on a factual note: it is NOT possible to be unfair to cllr james barber -
E.D.Station controlled parking zone
puzzled replied to joobjoob's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
cllr barber is mega buaybody with a deep seated loathing of cars. he believes we should all be forced to ride bloody bikes like he does. people like barber are a menace to any sane community and the sooner he is voted off the council and anything else where he wields his prejudices the better. -
Is the Colour Thief on Nov 4th going ahead?
puzzled replied to louloulabelle's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
funny how cllr barber never responded! -
at our LL shop our girls are required to say say "hello" to everyone who comes in. all our customers get "thank you, bye bye" when they leave. we do not hassle them at any time. your correspondent was obviously shopping in the wrong stores.

Friern Road closure at Peckham Rye
puzzled replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
this closure is ridiculous. it is not a rat run, any other than any other non-main road. I use it daily to get home from lordship lane and have done for many many years. it is never busy and there is never a queue to get out onto peckham rye. I never see anything approaching a lorry using it... apart from the dustcart every week. they have already closed two roads at the top of this road. the whole anti-car thing is bonkers. I sometimes feel cllr barber will not be happy until he has wiped cars of the face of the world. since when has it been an accident blackspot? it is all just another excuse to interfere in our perfectly reasonable and perfectly safe movements around our local streets. -
Peckham Rye 1 o'clock club under threat of closure
puzzled replied to dondini's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
hasn't it just been rebuilt? sounds like madness. -
is the original poster trying to suggest that the bins may be a hazard and cause accidents, or does he just not like blue. and aren't there enough things to worry our pretty little heads about already?
-
what on earth is a WUM? I am not suffering any stress... I am merely taking the piss out of many posters who seem to have their heads burrowed deep in their botties.
-
how very predictable. hardly a week goes by without the peckham rye park vigilante cohort feel the need to moan about loads of life's little irritants - but it inevitably always distills down to dog poo. you would think the place was knee deep in crap. I think all you dog haters should remember to take your medication at the prescribed times.
-
try getting a dog... preferably a jack russell
-
i am sorry to hear from the e-dealer. he/she/it is just another anti-dog pillock and there are too many already

"serious problem". goodness me civilservant, you must have a very fraught life. that fish van you don't like has been here for well over 20 years. anyway, it looks like the market is collapsing cos of the economic state we're all in, so you will soon have a nice clear empty and boring pavement to busy yourself on. btew the shops all like having the market cos it brings in customers

lynsabelle does sound a teensy bit of an hysteric. in tears in fear of a dog thinking of coming near her. look, luv, it is a public park and (god forbid) you will certainly encounter lots of our four-legged chums. you seem to have spent your time in the park quivering in case you walk past a dog. in spite of what the anti-dog army on here likes to trumpet, dogs and their owners are by and large fine and well-behaved (much better behaved than many humans, judging by last week's events). of course there are exceptions. I think you are rather far up yourself and that you would feel happier if you addressed your issues. now, I await the utterly predictable torrent of abuse from the dog-hating pillocks who spend so much time on here.

as a lordship lane radar, I am very worried that last night's disgusting advance guard may be followed tonight by more of their vile cohorts. if it does kick off, then we shall just have to stand our corner and fight back, cos we very much doubt that the police will be able to defend us. we have spent several years building up our business and we shall literally fight to protect what we have from this shower of bastards. I think that all of london now requires emergency measures, including water cannon, some armed police and almost certainly the military. the official response so far has been woeful. thank god boris is back to save us (not)

Beware! Tea towel sellers in Ulverscroft Road area now .....
puzzled replied to Sue's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
omg! what next? cheapo tea towels are just a short step to a complete breakdown of law and order. it must be eradicated forthwith!! -
another huge hole and road closure>>>
puzzled replied to puzzled's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
hahaha it is probably all down to cllr barber, who has a strange loathing of internal combustion and thinks everyone should be forced to ride bikes (with or without helmets) and seeks to adorn every junction with horrendous raised areas -
it now appears that many of the rioters came from as far afield as nottingham to "enjoy" the night's violence. my information is that the dead guy is a well known gun-toting drug dealer and his luck just ran out. the people on here who like to assume that the cops are a bunch of gun crazy nutters should really take a close look at themselves. btw: I am many ideological miles from the being an apologist for the police.

good of the ever vigilant cllr demon barber to try to make party political issue of this otherwise mildly amusing thread
-
does anyone know what is happening at the junction of friern rd and peckham rye. this place has been dug up so many time in the last few years and yet another huge hole has now been excavated

cornea, you really are full of it.
