  1. You can stream it from the WSOP website I think or live on CCN November.
  2. Back to MM - but can you also remeber actually having to go tpo the IMF, how long it took to get a landline put in, getting insulted by Ticket Office staff for daring to ask for a ticket, "Scroungers like you shouldn't be allowed cheque books" I once got told by a ticket clerk at Paddington for getting a ticket with a Student Rail Card!, power cuts, grabage piling up on the sreets.....I loved the powercuts though, West Ham had to play Hereford in the afternoon in a cup match so we all bunked of school ; ). It was the sense that we were about to go down the toilet that I remember even as a teenager - makes me laugh when peple go on about the 'damage' that the 80s did (especially in they are under 40), the 70s looked and felt like the slow gradual death of the UK...are we there again?
  3. For All true poker aficionados?.and I may well be the only one on the EDF, the last 2 months have been dominated by the World Series of Poker and this, unlike the that other World series, is truly international with players from all around the World piling into Vegas to play in anyone of the 56 tournaments of various different poker games at various buy-in levels ($1,000 being the cheapest) to win some cash and potentially take a much sought after WSOP bracelet down. The great thing about poker is that anyone can enter these if they put their money down and indeed 5 guys from my work went over for at least one official event and the juicy cash games and smaller tournaments that are everywhere in Vegas during the WSOP, alongside with ?blow, booze and hookers??but what goes on tour etc. Anyway, the culmination of the WSOP is the ?Main Event? a $10,000 buy in No Limit Hold ?em tournament that is the World Championship, which from 6,700 entrants at first by the beginning of this week this had been whittled down to the 9 final table who will go back and fight over the $6million first prize in November?anyway, my reflected glory story. Two guys I know entered the Main Event, both very, very solid players who have won reasonable amounts online and in tournaments and said the experience was amazing, one was on Phil Helmuth?s (think Tiger Woods) table at one point. Neither cashed so I said ?you both think it?s money well spent then@, they both smiled, turns out they and a few Brit friends all stake each other as a bit of insurance and it turns out they each have a 10% piece in Sam Holden, the only English player in the final 9 with a guaranteed minimum pay out of $790,000 if he?s first out?they are both already looking at nearly $80k??gamblers, just love ?em. I really wish I was young enough to go over to Vegas and take a shot at a WSOP event, but I?ve mortgage, kids etc and age takes the gamble out of you, for sure?(the final table are all 20/30 somethings?stamina and balls is my theory on why). I know game theory, pot odds and the percentages on most outcomes. I can range player hands pretty well, I can 3-bet (hell even 4-bet), c-Bet, probe bet, checkraise, float light and three barrel a bluff BUT I can rarely put ?100 in a pot that?s giving me 3/1 when I?m a 2/1 underdog or stick in all my chips when I?m 50.1% favourite?both positive EV play and therefore correct. Young dudes just do it without a care?..they?ve not mortgage and kids?they?ve still got the balls :(
  4. I've been very disciplined with my betting for about a year now. No bets for the sake of it - doing proper(ish) reserach and 5% of my bankroll max...and, some decent results. Then last night, flight delayed, got chatting to to right Geeeeezers from Kent who have a dog running at the last race at Sittingbourne tomorrow, Dappy Dipper or somethings, so gonna have a punt on that....I'll never learn :)) I made a few quid on the Golf thanks to trading I had a win when Uruguay beat Peru I've got England to win the first test with a no-draw bet (ie reduced odds but if it's a draw I get my money back) I also think Suarez as top goalscorer at 20 is MASSIVE value And I've a lay on Frankel still :-S

and so by that logic so is living in houses and not caves
  6. ...for lovers of Pirates. Pirate exhibition at Docklands museum is worth a trip (you have to pay, but not for the rest of museum).
  7. 1) Being offered them in a pub 2) Being offered them by my mate Mark ***********
  8. Just traded a bit of Campbell at 40s, enough so I'm in profit on all bets and still in for a big win if he wins...letting Davis Love ride as he was only 150 so less room to trade but all my bets are totall freerolls now, still with big potential pay outs...will trade Love if he's still near the top tomorrow night, but a few quid to the good whatever. ...you still doing the lottery Mick?

    Polyamory

Too complicated for a Friday but a good debate. The big issue for me is that there are there are seriously plenty of non-sexual positives (and some sexual ones too) in a monogamous(is that a word?) relationship, although perhaps from a purely sexual perspective monogamy doesn't always make sense and is sometimes difficult...... but surely relationships are not just about the sex are they. I've met a few people with 'open' relations and normally it seems to be to the advantage of one of them and not a mutually beneficial, sharing/caring relationship/arrangement at all. Is a partner for life is perhaps a tougher question, not convinced a polyamorous arrangement amounts to much more than having a few f*ck buddies.
  10. BBQs fantastic...... ....picnics on the other hand,,,,,,HATE EM.
  11. It's ok so far as it's just me
  12. Stage 5 (returnee with tail between legs) - hits 10,000 - goes, without so much as a farewell - comes back in poor disguise ;-)
  13. you could trade out Bjorn (now 24) for a decent profit now MM - or take say a ?12 quid profit on a ?15 lay and still get ?100ish if he wins...you wont :)), if he's still there tommorow and at say 9s you should
  14. Campbell already down to 140...if he'd got that -2 I'd have probably traded a bit off but I'll hope for a good day tomorrow.
  15. She owned that horrible posh barrat house in Dulwich for about two years having bought it as a place to 'retire to' and sold it before the Lawson crash (1989/90) for a tidy profit having famously harldy ever going there, not ever living there and settling on Belgravia....so she weren't ever 'one of us'
  16. You can also make a Chelsea brick with them too ;-)
  17. How many Hibbs does it take to change a lightbulb? INSERT JOKE HERE ---------------------
  18. Is this the betting thread? I've gone for Watney "He's gonna get one one day" this is my 4th bet in a row on him for a major and at 38 means I've still got another 34 Majors for him to get one to make some money :)) Poor day today and after some reasonably depth reserach on Betfaier golf forum...2 longshot yanks looking to trade - Davis Love (par today) 190 and Chad Cambell -1 today (sooo nearly -2) 470 I've also done Foster at 1000........... one of those bets is a lie but James Lawton did tip him as an eaxchway bet in Today's Indie....I hope he had a piece.

    Quiet room...

Settles in chair, pours Stella, hides NOTW inside MP's old and suspiciously 'weathered' copy of Razzle.
  20. ..he actually said Everyone Does it I think! Still we heard that quoted widely during the Expenses debacle.
  21. Snowboarder gets my Prize. Costa Da Luz is fantastic - family friendly, slight indie vibe, and near....and cheapish and great weather and you can visit Seville/Cadiz. I LOVE TARIFA especialy but further up the coast plenty of family friendly places and no sky high Costa de Sol stiff
