  1. refurbing is all (according to him before it shut down anyway)
  2. No it isn't ;-)
  3. we agree more than you let on y'know....
  4. if things happen on that facebook page under The East Dulwich Forum name that Admin isn't happy about, is that right or fair? Should it not be called something else?
  5. I think THAT topic is covered in it's entirety by Brendon Burns to death in fact [Edit: not sure if that link works due to work restrictions. But don't play it at work anyway]
  6. As a topic, I propose an insta-ban on anyone who starts another thread on the subject
  7. all I got from *Bob*s posts was a sense of "There but for the grace of God go I"
  8. Sometimes I WISH that England was part of mainland Europe just so it wasn't so pompous about other countries
  9. widget > adaptor? How so?
  10. It's better than The Pixies
  11. I have never taken anything more than a plug adaptor and never had a problem But mind those sockets - sparks ahoy!
  12. Not specifically about this forum, but I started a thread a while back on what plans people have for data they rely on being "online" http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,314363,page=1 It got sidetracked into a debate about backups but I meant it to be around things like this - if there is data you need online get it written down somewhere
  13. If there is a God, abd if the bible is his word, then he has been misrepresented by those pesky liberals, who else
  14. Which ones Anna?
  15. Anna - I'm not sure that probability stat holds up as you narrow the sample-group towards the entertainment end of the spectrum Jimi Hendrix' death has never been completely explained, but I don't think too many people are clinging on to the belief that it was a slip on some milk or a knife in the toaster No one heard the news about Janis Joplin and thought "how could this be???" Well, not no-one but you get my drift If Shane McGowan kicks the bucket tomorrow, and police say there was no unusual activity, we can still say with a fair degree of certainty that it was drink what done it None of this is to trample on the man's grave. I don't think anyone cares he was gay and if it turns out he died because of alcohol poisoning or drugs or something a bit more salacious than slipping on a floor I won't think any less of the guy. But there isn't a pop star in the world, straight or gay, who lived their life in public and gossip columns, who won't be the subject of speculation if they die young. Nature of the business and nothing at all to do with being gay
  16. probabilty v possibility?
  17. Pretty much everyone on here has expressed some sort of condolence for his death so I don't think anyone is being mean-spirited If any 33 year old dies suddenly and with no obvious cause then it's perfectly natural for people to speculate. I'm not sure there is much judgement going on either I wouldn't speculate under the families noses, but given that we are talking about him (and if he is someone we don't know why are we even doing that) it seems reasonable to try and piece things together
  18. Given that TA has decreased in numbers from 57000 to less than 20000 in the last 12 years.... does it matter?
  19. I thought we were supposed to be doing something DIFFERENT if the forum is down Keef??
  20. Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf) = slow version of WoM I would be more worried about missing "where is my mind?" if I left early
  21. There is a "special room" available for selected forumites login with the following details Username: Lizard1 Password: ******** sorted
  22. It would be nice if we qualified automatically and it would be even nicer if we copped on enough to stop giving away soft late goals But, undefeated in a tough group, we tool teh world champions to a close game home and away - we SHOULD be looking at countries like Russia, France et al as beatable Even if we haven't beaten a top-flight team in 8 years....
  23. oooh I've done it again!
  24. cross post with quids there, but good points It's not using a slang term that's offensive/racist - just ask "are the people/race/culture I'm being cheeky about subject to daily hassle because of who they are?" If the answer is yes, then don't use the phrase - if it's no, then flake away
