  1. so, to take your first paragraph H, do the actions of western governments over the last 6 or so years increase or decrease the number of these criminals?
  2. Iain genuinely sorry fella. Was lightly ribbing you About possibly bottling it. Didn't mean to suggest anything else I'll buy you a pint at next one to make up. If you'll let me. My misreading of your post
  3. I'd take a flying pig - I was looking for the 4 horsemen well played btw quids - Ladymuck will be gutted
  4. The weather has turned outside, but inside it's all sunny
  5. see - I wasn't being ungallant. I can tell when someone is just 3 years older than me that might be ALL we have in common mind...
  6. I should have said he "can be" witty - but more often I read the first paragraph of the weekly article and go "that's what he's whinging about this week" but he can be...
  7. * looks out window and checks the sky *
  8. oh daizie's youth was a fair old while ago I'm guessing....
  9. Michael Hodges also writes a column in Time Out every week - I feel I should like them more than I do - he is witty but he tries too hard. He's no Ted Max or *Bob* As for buggies/boos whatever on LL - people haven't got too much wrong in their lives if that's what they get upset about - there are whole swathes of the capital with nary a bugaboo in sight but you wouldn't want to live there
  10. Anyone believe ian on that one? Anyone at all?
  11. Or maybe just Rumsfield/Cheney
  12. it does sound, PGC, that you believe the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are somehow making "us" safer.... I have yet to hear ANYONE give a convincing argument for that.
  13. sounds like you have the DVD player connected with a composite (aerial style) cable - you would be far better off switching to a SCART, or better still component cable
  14. I don't think even I have ever gone THAT far
  15. colour me interested.
  16. How is Cameron going to respond to the Irish ratification of the Lisbon Treaty do we think?
  17. nope - should I be?
  18. Looking for some quality hokum? Channel 4 starts showing this HBO show from the creator of Six Feet Under on Monday night. Small town America, intolerance of others, vampires, drugs. And sex. Looooots of sex. What else do you need the 1st season finishes on FX tonight and while it's no W**E, it has been my TV show of choice for the last couple of months And a FANTASTIC credit sequence and song...
  19. true dat quids, true dat I wish Labour had seized the nettle of electoral reform when they had the chance
  20. Yep, for all that I'm disgusted by the way Blair currupted the DNA of Labour, the fact is they retain that core to do things such as ratty describes They deserve to be booted out, I will laugh at many of them going, but the country and many of it's people won't deserve what comes in it's place Something Wicked This Way Comes indeed Or as Cathal Coughlan sang "Something bad is giving birth to a thing which won't melt to your touch Something bad is giving birth to something worse and it's going to hurt"
  21. My favourite review was Charles Shaar Murray's review (reprinted her in total Artist: Yes Album: Yes Review: No BTW - I genuinely thought that Mockney had posted that in the wrong thread! Apologies all round old bean
  22. Yep, can't say I'm happy with a single photo of me in any of the sets. And that's not outoffocus' fault. But they are what they are but if people don't want their pics up that's cool too. Easily arranged. But I know some people like to have a look see before attending for the first time so it seems only fair
  23. What I meant to say was not that I don't understand the case, but I'm not 100% sure I understand all of the public reaction to it (on whatever side) I don't understand the list and range of celebs standing up for him for example. On the one hand you could say it's the usual mob and dismiss them, but these are smart people in many cases. If nothing else there is risk to their reputations - why so quick to petition for him? Your answer doesn't do anything to help me on that score I'm afraid.
  24. HAL - that's all specious nonsense. The world at large doesn't care a jot about such minutiae when it comes to something like this. It's a total distraction from the debate at hand
