  1. yep - that's pretty much how I felt when I saw them a couple of years back too - spot on Mr Mockney
  2. 5 star review in the Manchester Guardian this morning
  3. I woke up slightly worried this morning Either the gig was ace, in which case *Bob* will find himself in the awkward position of enthusing about something or it was a disappointment in which case *Bob* memories will be tarnished... Tenterhooks..
  4. Are the Murphia plus friends congregating anywhere to watch this? It's a shame that the late draw against BG means there isn't quite as much riding on this but should be a good watch anyway
  5. I think you'll find you'll be drinking Torborg if you go
  6. Go go go I saw them in their prime and then I saw them again about 3 years ago there is some dilution, coming across. A little bit like an awesome tribute band but it's mighty stuff Go
  7. Funnily enough most of those definitions do describe all to well the level of conversation that anna has referred to ladym, and not as you appear to be insinuating, anna herself
  8. you are choosing specific parts of Scotland against SE15 - it could just as easily be an estate on the outskirts of Fort William compared to, say, Hampstead There are pros and minuses to everywhere (how trite I know) but I wouldn't be inherently against bringing up kids in London - so many stimuli (positive ones I mean) compared to small-town living. Plus, I fear that the sort of childhood MrBen and I shared in Hibernian towns is no longer the case there - I get an email every other week from my family who still live there reporting the latest young suicide All that said I can't imagine growing up without the miles of beach I had just 5 minutes from my door....
  9. this thread is tipping into unpleasant. Again
  10. Huggers how would that woman know you were a good or bad owner and consequently if that was a good or bad dog?
  11. testing - and in no way bumping
  12. people who attack people are criminals James - dogs don't have that capacity As you know - I'm guessing you were being cheeky

  17. hmmm - but we can see Picassa images, strangely
  18. true, but many of us desk-jockeys can't see flickr images through a firewall
  19. Louisiana I dunno - I see a lot of these churches around, and many of them (I'm thinking here of the one in Peckham near the Co-op building) tend to have a poster in the window along the lines of "I had nothing - I kept going for job interviews and always didn't make the grade? but then after joining Church O' Plenty I got a job on my very next interview) So I think they actually help those without after all (Holy sheeeet - I just looked up the KICC website to have a look see, and whaddya know - this very church trying to open in Crystal Palace has a testimonial page) You can't make this up Now some people might think I'm taking the p*** - but look, it says it there in black and white! These churches just can NOT be exploiting poor people
  20. huncamunca - you seem very reticent today. Several posts have been edited back to a "." Whassamatta?
  21. slightly different issue tho jimbo - although I agree with what you say Whether I have a small paper bag for my chips, or a huge plastic container, the same bin is just feet away - yet people just chuck 'em wherever
  22. Do you know, I think it might just be. It's not unheard of is it? And it would be A Good Thing? So no matter how many obstacles you see in the way (and I probably agree with you on most of them) I would rather see the challenge head on instead of shrugging and saying it can't be done
