'Homoerotic' mentioned because fagging, as I understand it, was prevalent in boys schools. I can't help thinking that we need to get the basics sorted out first. Better mobile coverage in places like offices/shopping malls/airports/stations, more reliable mobile data, reasonably priced data useage overseas, etc. No point having a head mounted display if you have no internet connection half of the time. It's like building a supercar when most of the roads are dirt tracks.

I think we were all waiting for someone for someone to post something like that...

Not I. Not only are most of the proposed features pretty much useless, I also don't like the idea of talking to someone without knowing if they're potentially concentrating on something else. And they look ridiculous. Maybe useful for skiing (piste maps, etc)?

Yep... Walworth Road, northern Cambwerwell, Old Kent Rd have no rail links within convenient walking distance, so this must be a big factor. As well as deprivation and proximity to central London.

The reality is that Camberwell and Peckham (despite pockets of affluence) is one of the most deprived areas in the country. Bus is one of the cheapest ways to travel, and also there are probably less people commuting by train to white-collar jobs in central London.

I think it's pretty much true. My understanding is that they're going preserve some of the shop fronts (as they are listed), and much of Denmark Street will remain dedicated to music shops or the music industry. However, structurally it is going to be pretty much demolished and redeveloped.

The question is whether there really is a market for hifi which sounds "perfect" or even accurate. The hi-fi industry - even at the high end - seems more interested in delivering a sound that people will like rather than one which is true to the source (as well as flogging absurd accessories of course).

I can totally understand people getting frustrated when they want to find a place for a quiet lunch or drink, and there's buggies everywhere, kids running around, and crying babies. Perhaps we need more places than either cater to one market or the other, instead of every pub and cafe trying to find a middle ground to keep everyone happy (and failing)! I think it will be OK in the end... the only concern of course is that we have a lot of visitors in London. Business trips, day trippers, tourists, etc surely make up a huge chunk of the "population" at any one time, so I think it needs to be a lot easier to buy the cards in the first place. Things like: - Signage in central London bus stops, in multiple languages, telling customers where they can buy cards nearby - Oyster card vending machines at every station (both tube and national rail) selling pre-loaded cards
