  1. Agree with Otta, Eubank was/is quality. He's the guy you love to hate.
  2. Thomas Micklewright Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I have a copy of EDTs old menu showing it served foie gras if you would like it? Could you scan it (or take a photo) and post it up on here?
  3. "ponce" doesn't mean homosexual. It's not a homophobic word. If you choose to interpret it as such, that's pretty much your problem.
  4. Why can't you just return to the sender? Isn't that what you're supposed to do?
  5. Is wanker really ruder than arsehole?
  6. *Bob* Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > But I hardly know anyone who doesn't do cocaine. Interesting. I don't know anyone who does it and isn't a bit of a wanker.
  7. Surprised there isn't more of a buzz about Khan/Judah this weekend. It should be a huge fight... Sky aren't even showing it (again)...
  8. I'm sure the Butterfly Tennis Club (Camberwell Grove) is open after 7pm.
  9. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How do you know that Jeremy? I'm making the assumption that anybody who cares enough about food to buy a premium product like FG probably knows what it is.
  10. aquarius moon Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Tom is trying to educate people. That's exactly the problem. Almost everybody who eats Foie Gras already knows what it is, and how it's produced. They don't need "educating" - they already know the facts, they just have a different opinion.
  11. Thomas Micklewright Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > East Dulwich Tavern, Beauberry House and Franklins have > stopped serving foie gras - yes because we asked them to. You still maintain that the EDT previously served foie gras? > Is there anywhere else in Dulwich serving Foie Gras? You should probably check The Plough and The Castle.
  12. Perhaps the London Overground extension to Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye (trains to Clapham High St and Clapham Jn) will be a better bet in the future?
  13. Didn't TLS actually admit at one point that his Jamaican "ladyfriend" was in fact his cleaner?
  14. Heinz, in my experience English speakers are not common in China. And there's no reason to think that will change any time soon, bearing in mind that this is still the case in Japan and Korea.
  15. Ted Max Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > or when George Martin played Paul > the score for Eleanor Rigby. Or whenever Ringo tried to get the Beatles to try one of his songs.
  16. picapica - while in this case history would seem to support your opinion, I'd like to think that a restaurant can survive in an awkward location if it's good enough.
  17. Heinz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Kobe beef is also kept drunk all day I don't think so... Kobe/Wagyu cows are fed beer, but I don't think it's enough to get such a big animal drunk. They are sometimes kept in small spaces though.
  18. Very useful route. Terrible service.
  19. Thomas Micklewright Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Franklins, EDT and Beauberry House have all agreed to stop serving Foie Gras. The EDT have previously served foie gras? Are you absolutely sure about that? Surely most people (certainly those who are likely to eat at high end restaurants) already know what foie gras is. So let them decide if they want to eat it or not.
  20. I think the plans look absolutely fine. Yes, it's a modern concrete/glass structure, but I think it would be irresponsible to spend extra money on some sort twee mock-Victorian creation. Surely providing access to those who wouldn't otherwise be able to use the station should be a priority.
  21. What mockney said. It's very funny. "One day I came back to the office at 3pm because I had forgotten my stupid little hat"... you can almost hear the 'Allo 'Allo accent. The last paragraph was a bit unnecessary though.
  22. We've got a fairly sketchy account of what happened, with many important details missing. So I think DJKQ is maybe right to point out that it might have been a huge overreaction by "the jogger". But at the same time, it's completely pointless to speculate about the legal ramifications should events have unfolded differently.
  23. I like it. 850K is a lot of money. But then again, people are asking 750K for a standard terrace with a loft conversion and a side return...
  24. I saw Burns/Cook in the pub. Surely it's obvious that Cook's back gave out, but Burns was trying to claim that it was some sort of wonder-punch. As for the fight being sanctioned, I don't think it's a problem. The mandatory fights (in theory) are when they face the organisations's top challengers. Outside of that, they're free to make whatever fights they want... whether it's a big money fight, a unification fight, or simply the fight the fans want to see. Without these optional fights, the biggest fights would never happen.
  25. Hardly "unprovoked", DJKQ. If you're going to go around insulting and shouting at people, you have to expect that sooner or later someone's not going to stand for it. We can't allow a society where grown adults live in fear of teenagers.
