  1. There's also one in West Dulwich.
  2. I don't think it's boring at all. For instance, have you read the "untaxed clamped car" thread over in the main section?
  3. Implying that animal life is of equal value to human life... I don't think it's a fair point, I think it's complete nonsense.
  4. Brendan - Rebekah Brooks? Good looking? No. Way. StraferJack - I don't think that "giving people want they want" is an excuse for irresponsible / immoral practices
  5. I thought it was called a Millwall brick (presumably to be used against Chelsea supporters). I can't think why it would be more effective than punching someone, although I guess it wouldn't hurt your hand as much...

I play alto sax... played in a ska band when I was a bit younger, although I'm a bit out of practise these days.
  8. Congratulations mate.
  9. Interesting idea, but the site is very hard to read with that background!

  11. I think ED station is just fine (as long as the trains are running). And it's a lot cleaner and tidier than it was a few years ago.
  12. Just to add some balance... we've been on Virgin for a couple of weeks now, and so far it has been reliable and the speed is quite good (~17Mb on the two occasions I've tested it). Although I do realise that the reliability needs to be judged over a much longer period.
  13. EDF drinks at the British Legion, anybody?

I've never heard of Monster gym, but I can see how lifting big lumps of metal repeatedly might be one of the more entertaining ways of spending an evening in that part of the world.

  16. I noticed they have their own version of the Barry Road Race - the "Pub2Pub Fun Run". Except of course, being Australian, their version is over 13km.
  17. sidneypugh... I think we've seen you before, haven't we?
  18. Mscrawthew, it's nothing to do with media reports. Although the abundance of dodgy individuals who have these dogs for dubious reasons, fail to control them, and let them run around off the leash is a factor. I'm sure there are many responsible owners, but I still don't understand what legitimate advantage these dogs have over other less dangerous breeds. I don't remember suggesting banning them, although clearly there is a need for greater control. And banning under-18s from owning dogs would be a woefully inadequate measure.
  19. I don't know when this particular project will end (it's been 3 consecutive weekends now), but the weekend service has been patchy for years - particularly on Sundays. I expect you'll have to get used to alternative ways of getting into town - I think trains from Denmark Hill are running, if that's any help.

This just supports what I'm saying. It doesn't matter as much if small dogs get aggressive, they're not going to kill you. The point is that these bull breeds have the capacity to kill or seriously injure. So... why own one? Whst positive charactersitics do they have that less dangerous dogs don't have? The only good reason I can think of is if it's a rescue dog.
  21. The weekend "service" is a joke. Sitting for an hour on a bus (the 25 min estimate is ridiculous) which has little hope of arriving on schedule is no substitute for a train service, and they are ripping off travelcard/season ticket holders.

If your dog had been a bull terrier and it bit your face, the result may have been a lot worse! I hope you recovered OK from the incident.
  23. first mate Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > You get rogue dogs but aggression to humans > is not a trait associated with Staffs as a breed. Maybe so, but any dog can get spooked/scared/aggressive and turn on someone. And when it happens, bull breeds with their hugely powerful jaws have the ability to do much more damage than your average dog. > I see lots of people who have a penchant for > kicking/punching bull breed type dogs and that may > be another root of this dog's outburst. Quite possibly. As previously suggested, irresponsible owners are often attracted to these animals for very dubious reasons.
  24. Yep. If you want to lose weight, eat less food, cut out the cakes/pies/chips, do some exercise. We all know this. So why do we even need silly fad diets?
  25. Maybe so. But why own a dog which is capable of such dangerous attacks - and in fact was specifically bred that way? Too many bull breed owners have them for image reasons. Crazy.
