  1. If he does go for similar tactics to the Valuev fight, he'll have to get aggressive earlier to ensure the decision. Personally I think Klitschko will gradually wear Haye down with the jab, and by leaning on him in the clinches. UD or late stoppage for Klitschko.

  3. The Valuev fight was at a sensible time... surely for logistical reasons, the fight can't be on very late. The broadcast starts at 8pm, I would think that 10pm would be a realistic time for the main event.
  4. I'll be at the CPT. I expect it will get completely rammed!
  5. Yes, it's free - as is all of East Dulwich. However, you may often find it difficult to get a space, especially if you are at the end near the station.
  6. They haven't given up, the plan was always to sell the site! The council may have drawn up the plans, but it was never their intention to do the development themselves. After all, these aren't council flats. Personally I am glad that at least something is moving. Badminton House (the block above/behind the lovely "Payless Food & Wine") is also for sale, presumably for refurb followed by private sales.
  7. Southern website doesn't appear to be reporting any problems.

I wonder if that's my neighbour? It would certainly explain a few things.
  9. Jager bombs have their place (i.e. stag weekends).

Calling a radio 1 DJ a music snob is like calling Ronald McDonald a food snob.

Oh yeah, plenty of bad 'unpopular' music too. I just fail to understand what people see in Coldplay. In particular, I don't know why these "fresh-faced youngsters with their whole lives ahead of them" would be interested in such an insipid dirge. Perhaps the dead Tory guy had been subjected to both the U2 and Coldplay sets, and lost all will to carry on.

Even if the Euro was a bad idea (I'm not convinced it was), I don't understand the "Hooray to that", "About bloody time", attitude. What do you have to gain by the failing of the Euro? Huguenot, so Britain is pathetic/failing/rotten... compared to what? Certainly not compared to Spain, Greece, Ireland. Or the US. Please don't say Singapore...

  16. Weekend closures have been a regular occurrence for as long as I've lived here. You can't rely on trains at all at the weekends. And people wander why we want to keep our cars...
  17. End of topic, really. Hope she at least manages to hold serve a few times though.

(No) pube-headed... spot on. Oi Murray, have a shave, you look silly. Tim - sorry - Laura to get bageled by Sharapova in the next round.
  19. Fabricio the Guido Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I supposed the issue with Old Boy and (Taekukgi) > is whether they are purely martial arts films. I still maintain that Oldboy (good as it is) is not even partially a martial arts film. A martial art is (or is rooted in) a codified/traditonal system of hand-to-hand combat. Oldboy features crude brawling, learned by shadowboxing and punching the wall.

I'm afraid I don't know either. I was assuming Fabricio had some kind of nerdy in-depth knowledge of martial arts movies. Ong Bak is a good call though, regardless of origin.
  21. The walking-round-with-your-bum-out look may be absurd, but it does seem to be strangely enduring. I remember people doing it (mainly skate/punk crowd) in the early 90s.

I think that's a bit naive, LadyDeliah. No normal man would abuse a woman. There's no need for education - we already know the difference between sex and rape.

Fighting isn't the same thing as martial arts...
