  1. I don't understand why anyone would want one of these horrid creatures.
  2. If an animal that can fly is stupid enough to let itself get caught by a cat, then so be it. Natural selection innit.

Oh. Yes. You're right. Face. Egg on. Can anybody tell me if this one's any good, and what sort of apps are available? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e5/Nokia_3210_3.jpg/244px-Nokia_3210_3.jpg

  6. I know that feeling.
  7. I don't think the fight was as boring as many claim. I find WK impressive to watch - while he's not an all-action fighter, he's skilled in defence and ring generalship. But it should have been better, and I blame Haye, he seemed to be completely out of ideas after a couple of rounds.
  8. You really need to go and speak with the mother. Surely this kid isn't just going to get a single night in custody and a warning. I would have thought it's a serious offence worthy of a full trial/sentence.
  9. Can you usually remove the dummy fascia by hand, or do you need some sort of tool to prise it away?
  10. KidKruger Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > they're both highly ranked by all major belts and must surely be in the mandatory list Not so. I don't know how these organisations determine their rankings, but before the weekend, neither Klitschko was in the WBA top 15. > I shudder at what film roles he'll be chasing Probably starring alongside Jason Statham in The Transporter 7.
  11. It's usually pretty difficult to hold on to 3 major belts, and satisfy all the mandatories. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them was floating around in a year or two. I personally never believed that he'd retire this year - we'll see...
  12. Potatoes also originated in South America, but they're just as much part of our national cuisine as chillies are to Indian food. Perhaps Tarot's friend meant that whole chillies, or large pieces - rather than just in the paste/sauce - were first added in the 80s to satisfy the pissed up Brits.
  13. The toe excuse annoyed me - the way he got it out straight after the fight and stuck it in front of the camera. Nobody likes a bad loser. Haye did nothing on Saturday to warrant a rematch. It seems that his tactic was to stay out of harms way, and throw the occasional wild swing hoping to get lucky... and falling over. He did get in a few good punches, but Wlad soaked them up and responded in kind. So where does he go from here? Retire? Look for one last fight? Hang around and try to pick up another version of the title?
  14. KK, your inbox is full! I only just saw your PM when I got in last night, hope you enjoyed it. Disappointing result, but not surprising.
  15. Wombat Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I'd put money on it being a Romanian accent.... Well that's just charming.
  16. I still think Klitschko by late stoppage or UD. But will be very happy if Haye does the business tomorrow night. Anyway, I'll prob be going along on my own, I know Ke... sorry.. Otta, but if anyone else fancies meeting up in the CPT, drop me a PM.
  17. Annette Curtain Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I mean all the titles being held by a British boxer would be great Yes but Vitali has the WBC, so this fight won't unify the 4 major belts. > BUT Haye is such a tool. I can't stand his poxy banter, I mean who writes that stuff. He's just playing the game, he's not going to grab any headlines by being nice and polite. I do cringe at some of his antics, but I don't necessarily think it's indicative of his personality - he used to come across pretty well earlier in his career.
  18. Kings A&E is really excellent. I've also had to use a couple of out-patient departments, both as a private and NHS patient, and have received equally good service.
  19. I'm struggling with the idea that private school pupils are somehow less entitled to publicly funded safety measures then state school pupils. All this stuff about "opting out of society" just stems from a personal disdain for private education... at the end of the day, private schools do not diminish the public purse. IMO the state/private thing has nothing to do with the original post. But I still think that if the parents are so concerned, we could surely find 100 or so volunteers who can give up an hour a week.
  20. Laddy Muck Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > the IT industry has a poor record in terms of gender composition Actually I think it's more that women have a poor record of entering the IT industry. Most women just aren't interested.
  21. The work itself should come in on budget. The price should be agreed and signed up front. However, there are other things which won't be included in the quote - decoration, doors, tiling, extra electical work, etc. You'd need to have at least 5k extra available. Ours took 3 months, but that's including christmas in the middle. A couple of months would sound realistic.
  22. DM going way over the top there, threads get moved every day, sometimes admin may be overzealous or get it wrong... it's not personal. Anyway, the problem is that every single spending cut is bound to annoy or inconvenience people to some extent. Katie's volunteer idea seems sensible, surely amongst all these schools you mention, there must be enough parents who can give up an hour a month.
  23. Sorry to hear that. Shocking that it happened in broad daylight on a busy street, when most people would feel safe. And disappointing that nobody tried to help you chase the guy down (but I guess people may be worried about knives). A similar thing happened to me a few years ago opposite the station - I chased the kid as far as East Dulwich Grove, at which point he handed the phone over to his mate. I started chasing him too, but was exhausted by that point!

There is a semantical difference between "I don't like it" and "it's terrible". But a lot of people would say the latter while meaning the former. I'm certainly guilty of this when it comes to music.
