Where abouts are you on Ivanhoe Rd (rough location will do)? I often see a white cat with sort of ginger patches, but I don't think he's stray - I think I know where he lives. Although I've never seen him getting into any fights.

Anti-aircraft installations, yes. But ground forces? Tanks can't shoot at planes. Time will tell if the Libyans end up with a peaceful partition, or living in chaos without effective leadership.

This is most definitely more than just the enforcement of a no-fly zone, they are also attacking Libya's ground forces. It's a blatant attempt to pave the way for a coup. What happens then?

Maybe it's just me... but my interpretation of enforcing a no-fly-zone didn't involve missile strikes. And it seems that they're not just targetting anti-aircraft facilities. I've got a nasty feeling about this one.

I don't know, I'm not sure that the international reaction is any worse than for other natural disasters. I read an article saying that the donations so far are a lot less than for Haiti. But as you say, it's a wealthy country, so donations of money (while important) are perhaps not as appropriate as drinking water, food, blankets, search/rescue teams, medicines and medical care, fuel, etc. It's good to see China helping out Japan too, despite the fact that they don't exactly get along (to put it mildly). Also bear in mind that it takes a while to mobilise these things.

I do think they make some of the sweets themselves, but there's no way they'd be able to make them all. Surely all the "classics" (flying saucers, cola bottles, rhubarb & custard, etc) come from the standard suppliers. Who cares about the additives, as long as you eat them in moderation? Sweets are not supposed to be healthy.

Surely for a man, the primary requirement is that your hair is shorter than when you went in. The secondary requirement is than it costs under a tenner. Perhaps a scoop of unbranded "product" for the more cosmetically-minded customers. Not sure what else you want, really.

Don't even think about letting your kid take a saxophone to school in anything but a hard case. It will, without doubt, get broken.

A tax specifically directed at the financial industry doesn't make sense to me. The vast majority of the banks operating in the City were not rescued by the UK government. Those that were are now largely owned by the government, and I would not be in favour of penalising their (our) investment. Not only is this incorrect, but to make such a claim without at least providing your source is bad form. Also, you need to consider the amount of equity we hold in RBS and Lloyds.

One of the guys at work did a class at the Ginger Pig. I find the whole concept rather bizarre, but he loved it - not least because you end up with a big box of meat. Perhaps after you've honed your butchery skills, you could team up with "Scribe". He must need some help cutting up all those dead animals he smuggles back into the UK.
