I believe Keef and Brendan both like Pearl Jam. I used to like them a lot, but only a couple of their songs have really stood the test of time for me.
jamster - I don't think it's a strong claim, or an insult to the artists - plenty of talented musicians can't make a living from their music. I was just pointing out that while their artist fees are lower than other fests, the ticket is a similar price.

Mockers wisely pointed out the rise of Asian horror films... Thai, Korean, Hong Kong, as well as of course Japanese. Off the top of my head, Dark Water, Tale of 2 sisters, Shutter, Audition, Dumplings are all worth seeing.

TLS - as Hugo said, you've made a good case for NOT disclosing such statistics. You have previously complained at the lack of integration between ethnic groups within the community. And now you are saying that you would like to see crime figures broken down by race, to help people choose which area to live in.
It does seem strange that the management have to hire a consultant to tell them how to cut costs. I am surprised the management are not capable of deciding for themselves. However, it's a bit naive to say "why don't they pay someone else 40k to do the job". Assuming that they genuinely need an experienced senior accountant/consultant - for 40k a year they'd be lucky to get a newly qualified accountant.

This is exactly what I was wondering. I have absolutely zero interest in drinking in a bar with a "discerning door policy". In fact if you're so picky about who you drink with, why bother leaving the house at all?
A couple of years ago it was pretty popular, but seemed to be quieter recently. From the sounds of things they'd been struggling to make ends meet for a while now due to the pubco arrangement (as per mocker's comment).

Hey flapjack, if you like the fest, that's great - and you are obviously not alone! Was just stating my personal opinion. One man's gem is another man's turd. I like the concept and the atmosphere of the festival, but not so much the music. Personally I preferred Bestival, which is still a medium-size festival, but has a better mix of known bands vs smaller acts.
BN5, I believe you are correct. There is certainly not a "gagging order" on immigration and as SMG says, it is a staple of talk radio. But when some people start talking about immigration, sometimes some rather unpleasant views come to the surface.
