  1. Flawed logic.
  2. Nor did they execute drug dealers in the 50s.

Why would you like to see it demolished? It may be a poor copy of the original, but presumablly it can still be put to good use.
  4. Mr food journo - The Palmerston do not charge Michelin Star prices.
  5. How can anyone think it's OK to torture suspects to force an admission of guilt?? I could understand the death penalty thing, even if I didn't agree with it. But this... this is bonkers!
  6. Yes they would walk around it. And when they got to the end... they would find a crossing. Please look at the link Jim The Chin posted, because this is making my brain hurt. Over and out.
  7. I can see why you're annoyed. But being realistic... the vendors don't have to give up any piece of information. They're unlikely to reveal something which could affect the price or jeapordise the sale. In short... you have to expect these things.
  8. No I do not. I do not believe that most people would rather climb over a fence than walk for 5 seconds to a proper crossing.
  9. Did you actually look at Jim The Chin's example? Just 5-10 metres of railing at the corner of the road to make sure people use the crossing.

Put them in prison. Don't let them out unless they are later proven innocent.
  11. To be honest I remember going for lunch at C.B. about 3.5 years ago and the cost then was still ?29. Still very good value though.
  12. Chez Bruce is ?40 for 3 courses. The cheapest wine is maybe ?25. 3 average courses and a side at the Palmerston would be maybe ?30. The cheapest wine is around ?15. Service charge is less. They are not the same price... not really even close.
  13. Sean's right, nobody has suggested murderers just need a bit of a telling off, some counselling, and then be released again.
  14. OK, I was willing to put up with the Arbutus comparisons, as a meal with house wine probably only costs about ?10 more. But Chez Bruce... come off it.

  16. But he was only talking about railings for a few metres along the pavement to make sure pedestrians cross in a safe place. Nothing to do with cars being more "important". That's why I took exception to your post. Freedom of movement? Why do people want freedom to walk into the road? As for cyclists... perhaps setting the railings one foot into the pavement would cure the problem.
  17. "Funnel all pedestrians away from me and my important car"?? What a load of rubbish! While we're at it, let's scrap all pedestrian crossings. Let people cross wherever they want.

  19. I think quids is being sarcastic, that sign has been up there for 2 years.
  20. The asking price has been dropped a few times, I expect you could pick one one for around 225k. They seem to offer a reasonable amount of space for the price, but they just look too damn ugly. I'm not sure about using them as business units, they're quite a long way from any public transport.
  21. I always used to go via East Croydon, but I think this has been scrapped now - that's progress for you. Not sure if there's another viable route without having to go via London Bridge or Victoria... maybe best to theck http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
  22. How strange! I've only ever used them for Heathrow - for Gatwick I take the train or drive.
  23. Yes, it is evident that Atila clearly respects other people's opinions, and is interested in reasoned debate.
  24. These guys charge around the ?35 mark: http://www.simplyairports.co.uk/
  25. Wandsworth Town station isn't too far away, you should be able to get there with a couple of changes. Any route which starts with "get the 37 bus" is not really worth considering if you need to be there at a particular time.
