SimonM Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > If you think her films are kinky you should really get out more >:D< I have only seen two of her films, as far as I can recall. In Ma Mere, her character slits her own throat while having sex with her son. There is a subplot involving BDSM. In The Piano Teacher, she plays a masochist who embarks on an affair with a teenage student. She instructs her student to beat her up and have violent sex. I think these films are more than a little risque, Simon... but perhaps this kind of thing passes for innocent family viewing in your household?
  2. Interesting. What if Billie Piper really *was* a high-class escort. Would you?
  3. Lucy Verasamy. Oh my word.
  4. The guys in Blondie arguably pulled it off, but it's not a look I'd be comfortable with personally.

  6. Another look which is very wrong... the early 2000's phenomenon of a suit jacket with jeans. Popular in bars throughout Essex a few years ago, and can still be witnessed along Lordship Lane on occasion.
  7. Man Of Constant Sorrow - Soggy Bottom Boys
  8. I think the new regeneration looks OK. I've been keeping an eye on it for a while now. I have a feeling that some of the changes may restrict traffic flow, but other than that I think the area will become a lot more pleasant (let's face it, it can't really get much worse).

  10. Nobody fancied Lilly Allen before they called in the image consultants and she lost a bit of weight. Shallow, the lot of you!!
  11. Increase in air travel? Globalisation?

Even when tightly rolled, the magazine will possibly have a larger diameter than the eye socket. Also, very easy to miss the eye unless you are some sort of fencing expert. But on the plus side, attacking a group of lads with a rolled up copy of Kerrang is likely to provoke fits of laughter, which may provide the ideal opportunity to leg it.
  13. R&A... reinvestment of profits is good business sense, not charity. e.g. Microsoft reinvested all their profits, up until 5 years ago. (I don't think drug companies are "evil", just providing balance to the argument).
  14. I do agree with most of what you say... I can't understand why parents let their kids carry mobile phones and MP3 players around. These items are highly stealable and can cost hundreds of pounds. As you say, physical confrontation is the last resort, but if you're surrounded, you may as well kick one of them in the nuts to try and buy some time to run away.

  17. lenk, are you sure you haven't confused it with the lower rate rating restaurants near by? We have a chef and critic here, who swears that Surma's food is exceptional. Furthermore, they don't have a picture of Monica Ali (dumb blonde tart) outside.
  18. Nothing wrong with leftover curry, that's for sure. Add a dollop of minty yoghurt to make it more "breakfasty". To revive a naan - or most bready products - sprinkle with water and stick in the oven (or low grill) for 5 minutes.

Who'd have thunk it!?!???!?!?!??? I think you're onto something there.
  20. LibraCarr - why so touchy? What's with the bitchy comments about Tandoori Nights? Is there a vested interest here perchance? I eat a lot of curry... and I mean a LOT... Surma is firmly in the "bog-standard" bracket. The milder dishes are bland, the hotter dishes are one-dimensional, both are too greasy. The one time I had meat from the tandoor, it was far too tough.

  23. Personally I'd settle for a decent pizza place open at reasonable hours, rather than a superb one which is only open for lunch.
  24. I have a habit of imagining the worst case scenario.
  25. Yes, I'm sure they'll be happy to oblige. They will then punch you in the gob and steal your phone. Result!
