News just in... Khan will be fighting Kotelnik at light-welter for his (WBA?) belt. Probably a good move, lightweight is a very strong division, I don't think Frank Warren wants Amir to mix it with any of the current lightweight champs.

Seriously. So many threads have been consumed with nonsense and quarreling, let's make an effort to get on. It's worth a try... let's see what happens. By all means, disagree with people. Debate or argue until your heart's content, but don't bicker, and don't get personal. Don't bring previous quarrels or personal arguments into separate, unrelated threads. Don't gang up en-masse and pick on someone. Don't harrass people or make sexual innuendo when they have already pointed out that they find it offensive. Right... let's see how long this lasts...

BBC quiet on cops behaviour? Have you checked the main story on the BBC news site today? I don't really buy this stuff about police sending out a message and crushing dissent... I think it's more a case of a few individuals being too heavy handed and "up for it", and of course these individuals need to be bought to justice. There are a few bad seeds in the police - but overall I think they did a good job of making sure that the majority of the public could go about their business without too much disturbance, and minimising damage. (cue Snorky...)

Arghhh... straying off topic... but... Yes the consumer can be held partly to blame for the decline of cod stocks, after all, there are plenty of other tasty fish around. But surely retailers, wholesalers, fisheries, and the government have to take some responsibility too. I am a cynical kind of person, and unfortunately I believe that you can never rely on the public doing "the right thing". Most of us need carrots and sticks to push us in the right direction.
