There's a huge house on half moon lane... it's on a corner, possibly at the junction with Ardbeg Road. It looks real nice!

I will readily admit that when I was a student, Gregg's range of warm stodge was a convenient and cheap staple... but it doesn't exactly taste good, does it? There's nothing wrong with spending your money on nice food, if that's what floats your boat. Snorky, you've admitted before to buying stuff which I would consider a complete waste of money. So each to their own.

I don't understand the problem - they sell food which tastes nice. Yes it's quite expensive, but if you don't like it don't shop there, there are plenty of other options around locally. Snorky - come on, not the middle/working class clich?s again... next thing you know, someone is going to be berating it for being "white".

There are facets basically. I don't buy it. Fair enough he can develop a stage persona, and even extend this as far as interviews, etc. But the rest of it? The polical campaigning... appearing at Labour party conferences, whilst moving his considerable wealth offshore to dodge tax. I've no time for him at all.

I actually did it a few years ago. It can be good fun, but you shouldn't go into it with unrealistic expectations. daizie Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Photos are usually old and/or taken in a good light. True, but of course people (both men and women) are going to put their more flattering photos online! Didn't you?

I don't actually have a problem with herbal medicines... I'm quite happy to believe that ingesting or applying an active ingredient can have medicinal effects. Homeopathy is quite different to herbal medicince though, as far as I know.

Johnny - realising that the others were probably going to have a threesome later on - decided to make his excuses and look elsewhere for companionship. He walks along the aisle, and spies Sarah and Carolle. "Hello Ladies".

Father Christmas? Oh hang on...

Don't you find Lenny Henry funny, Bob?

In response to KK, I would happily try homeopathy! If a practitioner is reading this who wants to try to cure my asthma free of charge (in the name of research) let me know.
-
Do the believers in homeopathy think that it can work on sceptics? Is there a possibility that the treatment could work, even if the patient fully expects it not to?

You seem to have a different friend, from a different part of the world visiting you every day, Tony!

The leaked setlists seems suspicious to me... is the set really cast in stone already? Will he be doing the same set every night? When Prince did his residency there, he did a different set just about every night (although I realise there is a gulf in terms of back catalogue and musical ability). Brendan, I'm genuinely not sure whether he's a child abuser or just a very strange/naive/misunderstood individual. I don't we'll ever know what really went on... and a wealthy man who surrounds himself with children is always going to be wide open to scams.

I thought BN5's response was kind of interesting... i.e. what's wrong with giving someone a placebo if it helps them - after all, the placebo effect is well documented, so if we can heal ourselves through a mental stimulus, why not? It is a valid point, but doesn't address the issue I (and others) have raised, i.e. what happens when people trust this stuff over genuine medicines when they have something seriously wrong with them? Monica - I'd also be interested to hear what is in these remedies apart from the dilutant.
-
Brendan - my thoughts exactly. A good vindaloo will sort you out in no time.

I had a couple of cracks in my old place, due to tree roots growing under the building... I believe technically it was "subsidence", but the remedial work just consisted of removing trees and filling the cracks, so I thought it wise to tick the aforementioned "No" box on the relevant section of any subsequent documentation.

???? Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > A private car is in reality a luxury everywhere > surely?.... to live in a place without public > transport is after all just a selfish choice. Not sure why you're being sarcastic here, I did specify that it's a luxury in London, of course there are plenty of places where public transport is not a viable option. Don't confuse my views with those of some others, who believe that all motorists are selfish, etc. I do own a car... I just use it occasionally, and when necessary. The fact is that the roads in central London cannot support a large volume of traffic, so it's just not a suitable place to go for a shopping trip in the car. Therefore the congestion charge makes sense to me. Personally if I had kids and wanted/needed to take them shopping with me, and public transport wasn't an option for whatever reason, I would probably choose to go somewhere out of town.

I don't think that anyone's losing their culture. London is still 75%* white/british origin. I don't feel as though I'm in a minority (despite having a non-white partner, and neighbours from diverse backgrounds). I admit that I do sometimes feel frustrated when some people don't make more of an effort to integrate with the local community, but the same accusation could be made towards most British ex-pats (or plenty of Brits at home to be honest). * guesstimated figure

RE teleporting... would you want to do it, knowing that the "original" you would get destroyed, possibly painfully? You would essentially be killing yourself... but the "copy" would live on, taking over your life, but as a separate concious being. I wouldn't fancy it myself. And what happens if a fly gets into the tele-pod?

Tony... your post in the small hours of this morning sounded almost like BNP speak...

Bellenden Road - just picking up or closing down?

Can't wait for the response. Suffice to say that I think TLS is quite wide of the mark on at least half of the "educated" guesses. Seriously Tony, I've stood up for you on a couple of occasions, even if I haven't totally agreed with your views... but I think you're fighting a losing battle this time.

I think Brits should be the last people complaining about people emigrating to *our* country.
