  1. OK... not really the outcome most of us were hoping for, but I think we all agree that it's better than an empty shop.
  2. So Snorks, where is the best Sushi in the south, then? I've had some awesome sushi in central and north London (particularly Asakusa in Camden), but nothing special in south London. I think the place in Crystal Palace is called Edo. Or are there two places there?
  3. Awful to hear that there was an accident on that crossing, anyone seriously hurt? It's not a good place to have a crossing, just by a junction like that. It's just round the corner from me, I'm always extra careful there... whether on foot or in the car.
  4. Wagamama is an insult to Japanese food!
  5. Your rabbit keeps the foxes away? He must be one big f*****g rabbit.
  6. There's a front section and a back section, which are quite different. The front section has been brightened up a bit to appeal to the younger crowd, and the rear section is more traditional - but unfortunately very tatty!
  7. We thought the one is Crystal Palace (Edo) was quite good... the sushi was expensive, but rice & noodle dishes were good value. Overall quality not bad. Although the staff in there were not Japanese.
  8. Yep... I don't believe the fish-man for a second! Anyway, you can always visit Camberwell or Peckham for such things...
  9. That would serve people right for moaning about Cafe Nero and White Stuff!
  10. I hate it when people drop litter too. But you can't pretend that a crisp packet is as bad as a dog poo...
  11. Hurrah!! All is well on the "quirky little shops" front!
  12. As someone else pointed out... modified chip and pin machines can store the pin number as well as copying the data on the strip. So while chip and pin makes physical card theft harder, it may actually make card copying easier!
  13. > Do foxes eat cats? The "cat vs fox" debate is an old one. The general opinion seems to be that a fox would usually come off worse, as a fox would have no answer to the vicious claws of an adult cat.

Could also apply to the double kick-drum style favoured by some of these aforementioned "heavy metal" musicians.
  15. The one under the arches is "Bar Story". As Mark says, it's the other side of the rye, on Nunhead Lane. I've never been in, but it looks very nice! http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/35/3557/Page_2/Nunhead
  16. Wouldn't bother about gaps in the fence, the little guys can climb over without problems. I suggest throwing some tasty looking food into your neighbour's garden every evening, so the foxes hang out there instead!
  17. As discussed previously, food at "the dog" is barely fit for a dog (see what I did there?) Their roasts are rubbish, they also use the awful frozen "roast" potatoes, which I find inexcusable. After all, fresh potatoes aren't expensive, and quite hassle-free to cook! There was a recent thread asking for a decent, local sunday carvery, and unfortuantely I don't think we came up with any suggestions!
  18. Chener isn't the only culprit... there are one or two others. But it's a great shame because they would definitely get more custom if they made a little bit of an effort!!
  19. Who on earth wants to make East Dulwich like West Dulwich??

I'm in - for drums, guitar, bass, keyboards or saxphone! Hmm... "The Joy of Spanish Sax".
  21. Agreed that most of the shops on LL range from "fine" to "very nice" in terms of the exterior decor. But there are definitely a minority which let the side down. It needn't be expensive, I'm just talking a spot of paint and a bit of elbow grease.
  22. I phoned the LL police station. I cannot recall the name of the person I spoke to. As with 'Lilly123', they told me that it was up to the bank to investigate, and communicate with the police. They had no interest whatsoever in my call!
  23. What really annoys me is that the local Police refuse to investigate, even though the evidence - albeit circumstantial - is overwhelming.
  24. H&M clothes fall to bits - but if you want something which is essentially disposable, then I guess it's fine.
  25. ...just a short walk, bus ride, or train journey to Peckham, Jo!
