Doing the secondary school rounds and most are mentioning sixth forms. I've been ignoring this part, assuming that this will be an open decision we make at a later date but does it not work like that? - Is it hard to choose a sixth form provider that is different from your secondary? Do those already at the secondary get preference? Thanks for any info x

On Saturday we have one hour to catch up with some elderly family friends before taking kids to the ROH for our first time (cheap tkts!!) - can anyone recommend somewhere informal with space for nine - I guess a quiet pub would be perfect, allowing us to snack and drink but don't know if that wld exist round there?....very grateful for any suggestions...it wld be at midday..

My memory from one of James's posts or maybe se22 magazine was that the council no longer intends to post letters to those local to a planning application but instead only need to put up the yellow notices. This seems like taking local consultation out of planning applications....for example, someone might be wanting to develop behind me but because I don't walk down the road behind me I wouldn't see the yellow notice and therefore wouldn't know about it. But maybe I've Mis-understood? Anyway hence why I want to sign up to alerts! Thanks for the link, I'll try it.

James, I think you mentioned a service which meant you would be alerted to planning applications that come up in your area now that the planning department will not be informing affected parties with letters?! Can't see how to do this on the main planning sight....could you explain how to do it....thanks

But seeing a GP is not about urgent care - that is what A&E/111 is for. GP services should be about looking after the welfare of their patients when care is needed not waiting until it becomes urgent. Triage should be about getting the most appropriate help - this patient was perfectly happy to see anyone in the practice who had medical knowledge and could reassure her about worrying symptoms. Instead triage was used to fob her off and re-direct her to SELDOC or A&E if she felt she needed to be seen. It's why more and more people are showing at these services, because they can't get any basic medical reassurance from their local Dr. 'Make an appointment with your GP if you are feeling unwell and it is not an emergency' - it's in your copy and paste cedges as the right action for Millie to take but she couldn't get an appointment with anyone.

Yep, that sounds pretty typical.....please email this to the complaint email address earlier in the thread.... I've got to try and make an appointment tomorrow - already dreading it!

Contact planning enforcement and ask what is stated in their change of use....we had problems for several years turned out they shouldn't have been doing any of the stuff they were doing before 8am. I would guess it will be the same in this situation.

I was sitting across the road when this was being put up - looked incredibly dodgy....well done for acting...had completletly forgotten about it....the people putting it up didn't look very sure what they were doing and it stretches across a busy pathway...really needs inspection....I think it's for Swadesh...James who do you contact about this sort of thing?

Bessemer Grange school is a great school (you avoid the village/Hamlet split) and is still diverse....well worth a school visit.

Bmx track at Burgess Park ?12 day excellent coaches all equipment provided - my 10yr old just tried his first day, it was fantastic - on tomorrow and Thursday.

Apparently it was cancelled as it didn't get the numbers but when we went a couple of weeks ago we got the last two bands?! And it will only get busier with warmer weather.....very frustrating.
