I'll have the other three, but Two Pints is genius! Damn, my secret is out. :(

Sorry to quote myself Keef but I said the above, I didn't say who knows where UNITED would be without the ban. Actually, we missed out on two Uefa cup places too, but you seem to have missed those. Surely it was how much it set English teams back when they finally got back into Europe and didn't have the experience needed to compete and we didn't get all our places back for another five years. Everton were big losers, they weren't allowed to compete in Europe and lost a great manager like Howard Kendall in the process. So, Fergie is being arrogant for being quoted in the press and Peter Schmeichel would have made no difference to a United side. Yet again, your points are laughable and totally unprovable. Fergie can't help that the press hang on his every word (and so do you by the seems of it) Schmeichel was a match winner for us and a dominant force indefensive terms. You only have to look at our performances on occaision with keepers like Barthez and Bosnich. And as for Ajax dominating European football? Maybe, but as they probably wouldn't have been able to keep the team together, I doubt it. And finally, Keef, you are telling me your wouldn't bring up an equivalent banner if the shoes was on the other foot? ;-)

hahahahahah, hilarious as usual. You weren't lucky in 2005 of course. I think you should have a look at the interview video. He doesn't say it in a blustering way at all. Anyway, mid 90's, the restriction on numbers of homegrown/naturalised players hurt United. And who knows where English teams would be without a certain European ban?

What did she need five houses for TLS?

I couldn't care less about Benitez and if he's congratulated Fergie or not, it's just funny. I expect he's already working on his list of things that life has made diffcult for him for next season. It just shows how long you've been clinging onto the "we've won 18 so are better than you" mentality and how upset you really are that we've caught up. As far as the war goes I suppose you boycot "Allo, Allo", "Dad's Army" "Blackadder Goes Fourth (Forth?) and "Life is Beautiful" too?

It was a joke. My father fought in World War 2, my maternal grandfather fought at the Somme in WWI. My wife's grandfather (a jewish scouser) fought in World War 2 and met his future wife, a card carrying Austrian Nazi, and came back to live in Kirby with her. I am also very well aware of the difficult lives of the people on the home front in industrial cities Like Liverpool and the hard work that was done by shipyard and dock workers in the area. I don't REALLY think that Scousers didn't fight in the war you twonk.

Okay, I'm not sure what you are getting at? I just thought it was funny, even the writer was tongue in cheek at the end. I'm sure we'd try and find a few other trophies if Liverpool won another league title.
-
Smacks of desperation! so while our brave boys were off fighting the Germans the Scousers were back here sneaking in another couple of trophies! ;-)

It's not touchiness AG just bbbbboooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeeeeddddddooooooommmmmmmmm. I'm not sure you can have watched many United games this season as we have played some excellent football, as have Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. In fact I would say that Liverpool have been playing some of their most attractive football this season for a long time. I am biased but I have heard a lot of pundits saying Man Utd have played good football this season and I think they are right. We have played with pace and verve and not let our heads drop even when going a goal or two down, some of the passing has been superb. I'm guessing I'm not going to get an admission of admiration from either you or Matthew because you are United haters but I think if you ask most true neutrals they would say that United have been good to watch this season. Your last line is hilarious. Many people across the world hate Arsenal, many hate Liverpool and Chelsea too What's that got to do with it? And anyway surely their opinion isn't valid according to your logic about fans having to be local because they aren't supporting their local team or league.

My counter argument was made by my team who, in case you didn't notice, won the league yesterday beating your team. I'm afraid your argument that both you and Chelsea were better sides, the refs were pro-United and that teams didn't turn up against us does smack of sour grapes. There's only one side who has played more games in a season than us and that was Liverpool back in the early '80s, I think there were twelve odd League Cup games you played that season. We have been to Japan (I know, I know a Mickey Mouse trophy) and won there a week before the busiest part of the season. We gave the FA Cup a good run and lost on pens and have won the league with games and time to spare and now have a Champions League title to defend. I can't see how you can say we haven't been the best side in the country this season?

You continue to speak total rubbish! First it's the refs, then it's the money we spend on players and finally when there's no other place to go except to say United were the better team you start spouting on about how Liverpool were the better team. How on earth do you make that out? We BEAT you. We have more points than you, which means over 38 games and now over 19 years we have been consistently better than you. End of story. I love the way that the interviews outside the game today they were all bleating on about how they didn't have the strength on the bench that United had, well boo hoo, why not try signing some consistently good players? Why buy a player for ?20M play him for a few games and sell him back to his former club? How can that be good for a team? And as for AG's comments I've said it before and I'll say it again, not all Manchester United fans come from Manchester...shock horror! In fact in the very same interviews where the Liverpool fans were bleating on about how hard done by they were there weren't that many Scouse accents either...what do you make of that?
-
Keef! It wouldn't be the same if you did! Go for Barca, they've probably got a better chance anyway. :'(
-
Oh, yes! Anna, Is said "one more and they are well and truely knocked off their perch". Keef, Thanks for the congrats (which you did say through gritted teeth), I was just a little disappointed that a manager of a top four club had a dig about spending money. Like Liverpool didn't? Lard, it's always about Liverpool and always will be, (we are dead happy to win and dead happy to sing to you when we do) at least until we've got 19 and 6 and then you can do whatever you like..except win the league...or the European Cup. Excuse me for enjoying my teams acheievements this season and reminding Liverpool how long it's been.
-
At last! Of course we couldn't have done it without spending soooo much money as the guru Benitez has told us. What a twat. (Apart from the fact he managed to spend ?20M on a player who then went straight back to where he came from for less money.) One more and they are well and truely knocked off their perch abnd that IS a fact. Bring on next season. ;-)

Don't forget dog fighting. You get banned for that too. :))

Pele schmele. Maradona was better than Pele.

Exactly! Just like Rooney. :))

But I saw my mate the other day and he said he'd seen the white Pele....don't shoot the messenger! ;-)

And the inventor of the Wimbledon "long ball" style of play which kept Liverpool in the race for so long.

Do away goals count in the play-offs?

There's a load of Dulwich Paragon people doing it and they are hiring a bus (or two) to get home the next day. Check out the forum here: Paragon website! Go to "forum" on the left hand side and "Sportives and Audax" Hope the weather's good for you!

Banksy is! As I've said before these teams can play however they like. I personally always liked the way that Blackburn got accused of playing rough with Arsenal, it showed they'd got to them and made the Gooners look weak. Let's face it Liverpool resorted to the long ball hoof when they got desperate for a goal this season and it worked. You do what you have to do and more power to you! Edit to say, don't go anywhere Keef! It's cold out there....and the place wouldn't be the same without your conflicted views! ;-)
